    Happy Friday everybody!

I have this pie pan on my radar and everything looked good from a distance but now I’m not so sure. When I zoomed in on the photos the markers don’t look quite correct and it seems the star isn’t even applied on the dial?....

Maybe it’s a trick of the light or my eyes but I wanted to get a 2nd opinion. Appreciate the help from you guys!

It looks legit, but better pictures please. The star is likely corroded due to the black apperance.

Dial printing looks legit to me including the crosshair

    Which reference is that?

I’m waiting for better pics from the seller. You guys are right, the hands seem oxidized and I know they are a pain in the ass to source. Case looks pretty polished . Still waiting for movement pics too but the seller is slow to respond so I don’t have a reference number either.

Still it’s well under market value so as long as the dial is legitimate and the watch works (this is confirmed in the listing) then it may still be worth it.

    appreciate the quick responses guys!

it’s not the oxidation on the hands but rather the absence of lume

isn’t that consistent with the lack of “t-Swiss-t”?

Unless I’m seeing wrong it looks like the markers have lume

Although the lume does look ‘radium-ish’ they could have been using tritium in the late 50s but weren’t obliged to put Ts on the dial until (IIRC) ‘63

the serial number would be helpful to determine that

agreed but the English spelling of chronometer suggests a watch towards the end of the 50s.

with that, the mixed Ms and solid lugs - perhaps a late 2852?

My understanding is that tritium wasn't used until around '61-62 and the mandatory labelling started in ~'63-64 (the Ts are first seen in the -63 marked models I think) with a year or two when a dial could have no marks but still use tritium. If this is a 5 digit model, it may have tritium but if as I suspect it is a 2852 then it will be radium IMO and yes the hands should also have had it too so have likely been changed.

61-62 is for Omega or generally for all lumed watches?

I am referring to Omega rather than generally but my suspicion is that it wasn't used elsewhere much earlier either, it's introduction was forced on the industry. It offers no practical advantage over Radium, quite the opposite but of course the experience of the Radium girls shows why it had to happen.

I didn’t even notice the radium. I’m not a huge fan of radium watches but I love the arrowhead constellations. Maybe I’ll pick it up anyways and trade someone who may want the opposite.

In your opinions do you think this would be worth it under $1000 USD? Assuming it’s functional of course, still waiting on the seller for movement photos.
