Advice on a constellation

Hi All -

My first post. I recently saw a NOS omega constellation from the 50s and i am very much captivated by it. There are just lingering thoughts on whether if this is just too good to be true... i meant the conditon is just superb... how is it even possible and the leather strap after 50 years is still intact.

I really appreciate if the folks here can assist me in determining if this is the real mcCoy.

It's the real deal. Very nice! Lovely watch! And although most NOS claims are bulls#$## this looks to be a real NOS watch!

It's from the late 60's/early 70's though. Not 50's.

Yes. On the tag you see the model- and serialnumber. The 29xxx corresponds with app 1970

It's in stellar condition, but beware of any large premium asked for it. The market (currently) dictates that these are the poorer relation to the earlier Constellations and even those in great condition trade at, what, half of what a 168.005/6 does.

It is a cool novelty for sure, but the moment it is worn or get a mark, it will be just another gold cap Constellation. Harsh, but it is wise to not be blinded by appearances, especially in the current climate.

What is the asking price?

This is very solid advice. Keep this in mind!

thank you for the kind advice! I bargained from 1.9k USD to 1.7k USD. Not sure if its a good deal but frankly...its jsut too beautiful for me to miss. I am so looking forward to recieving it next week.

Haha. Nice one mate. I saw this watch this afternoon, was going to put in an offer, browser crashed and I couldn’t remember where I saw it. Got to stop opening a thousand tabs

Clearly it was not meant to be and I’m glad it went to an OF member. Congrats.
