Wow.. some exquisite craftsmanship in this thread!

Nothing complements a great watch better than some well-aged leather that has stories to tell.

@Duracuir1 maybe I missed it somewhere in the thread, but do you sell your straps somewhere (e.g. Etsy, or so)?

Finding myself with more time and seriously considering trying this out. For a complete novice who doesn’t want to buy every tool, how good is this guide? The links to Tandy don’t work, but googling Tandy leather can take you to the correct website.

Also, have any of you tried making wallets?
Hey! That is a nice guide! Go for it! Looking forward to seeing your creations! My last two straps, for a colleague’s 50th. His wife wanted something that she described as “rugged and sexy LOL”. I used a 50 plus year old baseball glove, a black one, and it met her needs!
The one on the right is a 20. I hope she takes the 18...

My long awaited one piece from Steve has arrived! He and I were discussing this strap last December based on a vintage Gemex that I have. This things beats the Gemex- not to mention I don’t fear it falling apart like 70 year old leather.
The perfect strap for this little guy that I picked up from a fellow member.

A donation to the SPCA will be forthcoming.

I had one day off and got restless after a 40 km bike ride, a date with my wife and some work around the house.

With just enough leather left from the black baseball glove palm piece, I made a strap for an old chrono just back from service. I could not decide on thread colour... we can call it Vomit!

it is so soft! Daytime pic to follow.

Choco Zenith reporting for duty - with my new lovely super badass strap by @Duracuir1 👍

Thank you so much dear @Duracuir1 !
The weathered texture and blue thread are so perfect!!

And the super small size worked perfectly too!
Now I have to figure out which cause will get this donation.... the needs are so pervasive. It might go to Doctors without Borders.

The cushion on the old Chesterfield was getting tired. Considering that when we bought it in 2005 it cost more than a vintage Sub/Speedy combo I thought I would try to cover it myself. Looks and feels great (but it is evening now and the lights are dim. Haha!) Now I can get back to making watch straps!
