Did I post a photo of a True Pogue? I only have a Pogue Lite :(.
I missed Watchknuts Pogue a few days ago. I am really, really sorry I missed it. The moral to the story is never contact a member about a gorgeous watch, have a few too many, then fall asleep.
Back on topic, beautiful photos and description Jim.
Does the push to the date/day make any difference in the complication compared to the usual multi-position crown? The movement in the donor case looked a bit roasted, was it discarded in its entirety or was there any salvageable parts. Oh and I have to say it, DIBS!

Great result, Jim. There's a lot of work in there and really nice to see it finished.

    You must be phsychic.....psycich........sykik!

I've just finished sorting the 6139s after cleaning the rest of the donor parts.

It looks like I'll only need a new automatic winder transmission wheel, this little guy didn't make it :(.

And here's everything all tidied up until next time.

Next project though will be to service my Hamilton Railroad 992B pocket watch.

BTW, here's the poor little bugger on my thumbnail.

I'll give him a decent send off. Maybe bury him in the garden under the grevillia.

    Thanks Phil,

What is your opinion on what version it was, 6002 or 6005?
There are so many differing references but I figured that as it had an export day (Eng/Fr) wheel it would have been a 6005 and 6002 would have had a domestic day wheel.

So happy that it all worked out! Great work...

I have been the Pogue whisperer as of late.

Hasn't he had a decent send off already? Looks like he's been cremated.
Any plans for another step by step restoration. Like a lot of others I found the Pogue really interesting. A 6309-7040, another classic Seiko?

    What?

    This old thing?

    :D

I serviced it some time ago but didn't document it.

It's a very special "ΩForums" watch to me. ::love::

One of these will probably be my next Seiko after I do my Hamilton and my Genève Driver Chronostop. The 6138-0030 has never been opened until last year and I'm not sure if the Bullhead was serviced in recent memory. Maybe Paul (@CdnWatchDoc) could advise?

That 6138-0030 is lovely. I have been bidding on a few on EBay. Look forward to the next instalment. That Bullhead is pretty nice too.

That's the old thing! Every collection should have one of these.

FYI : just checked Skylab photo collection and there're only 3 good color photos of Bill Pogue wearing the Seiko onboard Skylab in 1973/1974

The Bullhead had not been serviced while in my possession, nor was there any indication of same from seller. Great job on the restoration and love the pics! I do still have that "renovated" pogue if you are interested in it for parts...

Are these any good, I have been proposed Seiko's for 250€ a piece and didn't know enough to take a plunge.
    What is you opinion ?
    Sorry for the crappy pics.
