Accurate parts advice (crown, hands, buckle) - Seamaster OT 2909

Hello to everyone.

I have been putting something off for years, which is to solve a "Frankenstein watch" problem with my grandfather's Seamaster.
When it came to me, it was missing a crown and seconds hand was damaged (can't remember more about that now).

Ages ago, I somewhat unwisely had a local repair shop find a seconds hand and crown based on their own judgement.
Back then, the Omega site did not have a detailed database where one would have been able to easily find a reference number.
Now that I can see a photo from their archive, you can see these two parts are not correct, and would like to purchase them.

My question is: what is the path of least resistance to source a tapered second hand of the correct length, and this period-accurate crown?
Am willing to buy from a private seller here, depending on your overall standing, of course.
The turnaround and cost of Omega's servicing is definitely out of reach.

I wonder now, also, if the buckle is accurate (I sourced it myself, and do like it, but may as well do the job right!)
Regarding the mechanism itself: I am not as concerned with replacing this. It does function correctly and was serviced adeptly, in that regard.

Thanks in advance for your input and expertise.

Someone with more expertise will chime in about the seconds hand, but I believe the correct crown for this would be what is referred to as a “clover” crown.

As far as the buckle, it may be original omega (better photos of front and stampings on the back would be needed) but please refer to this thread if you want to go deep on omega buckles.

Thanks very much for the information about the correct name for that style of crown. I will have a look at the Omega buckles thread you mention. Looking at it again, years later, I feel almost sure this is not a genuine part.

In my personal experience it is very annoying to find NOS second hands for these series of movements ever since Omega stopped selling parts externally. But if you can find a watchmaker with a Swatch parts account, they can order and install it for you for much less hassle (the actual part is cheap).

If you want to source it yourself you could check Ofrei or eBay. Omega made multiple lengths of seconds hands to fit the cal. 501/505 so you will need to measure the length - I would guess 10.5mm but I’m not sure. IIRC any hands that fit a 5XX movement or base cal. 470 should work as they all use the same post size (0.17-0.18mm), but you probably want to double check this.

These are oftentimes listed as “sweep seconds” hands so you can use that if searching on eBay.

Thanks, Hugh. You're right,it's a sweep seconds, forgetting names now.
Curious about the Swatch parts account bit - sounds like the companies shared facilities or something. And good point about getting it measured... I think I'll be more willing to have a shop take it apart once I feel a bit more sure that a part could be sourced.

That said - anyone here who can ID the parts, happy to purchase from you and support true enthusiasts.
