What are you referring to? They seems fine to me. Maybe some reflections?

The fifth and sixth photos, from the rear - the two lugs on left of shot ... is that really just a reflection? It looks like the lugs have broken - top one being welded and the bottom left alone ... or I really am overdue on an eye exam and even newer glasses.

Wow, nice piece. If the price for the second one is fair, go for it! First watch seems sketchy, the others gave you plenty of hints already. Even though the first one comes with an original crown...don't see that very often! Obviously that's just a minor issue, but i wanted to point it out 😉 Good luck with your hunt - let us know how things go!

In the end the negotiation for the 105.012-65 didn't get anywhere as the seller, althoguh responsive, was always delaying the closure of the deal. That's a pity becuase the price was very competitive.

Nevertheless, the third attempt was the right one! I have just received my first speedmaster, a 145.012-67 SP!

Thinking about it, I feel I have been increadibly impulsive (not to say fool) and took quite a big risk. It's enough to say that I bought the watch on the auctionata's auction of the 28th of February, the day in which they declared the cease of the activities ( I hadn't realize that)... Quite a scare! Fortunately, in the end everything went good.

The watch seems in good condition and comes with a 1506/16 bracelet which although not correct is more valuable. The hands' tritium has tourned a dark color but the dial markers have a very nice yellow tone.

The glass seems a replacement for the 2998, which has a wide border and for this it covers the "T SWISS MADE T", I guess.

I still need to bring it to a watchmaker to have it opened and checked. In the meangwhile here are some pics.

Looks a nice speedy I have a ed white with the incorrect plexiglass which should be for 2998 and covers the t Swiss like yours which is annoying me!!

So i have bought the correct one but concerned that the 2998 plexi has marked the dial all the way around and when get the correct one fitted you might see the mark not sure will see I suppose [emoji53]

@bokbok you are right. I was looking at some 2998 dials on the internet and they seem actually marked by the glass, some more, some less. I hope it was a late replacement and it didn't mark the dial.

I have purchased the correct plexi glass but now thinking to be honest after reading on the forum that my ed white is debatable should have a silver ring or black? as some folk have had either on their ed white.

And with Rolex back in the past when they launch a new model they always finishing using parts of the previous model, they was thinking about 50 years down the line a forum debate on parts fitted to watches! I bought mine of the owner who purchased from new in the 60,s told me nothing was changed bar the hands. He was very articulate I even have the shop receipt and his deposit reciept of £20 plus he stated the watch was on order too for a few months.

But yours for sure should have the black bezel ring! I would see what the watchmaker says.

I believe common concensus is that the 105.002 was the last with the silver tension ring. Personally, I'd go with the black one on an Ed White.

There was a previous thread regarding the ring, in my opinion nothing concrete 50 years on lol it is only when folk have bought their watches later down the line like me. But some state it did have silver but most 105.003 do have the black one. But that does mean necessarily mine should have the black one! I would be tempted to put a new crystal but the dial could have marks from 2998 glass which you possibly might see. So will see when I get to the watchmaker.
