A strange click while winding

Hi all,

I am still new to Omega, and the Grey Side of the Moon is my first Omega watch.

While winding the watch, after a number of turns, I hear a strange clicking sound, as if something is slipping inside the spring barrel. Apart from that, everything else works fine, and the time is accurate.

I’m just wondering if I may have done something wrong, or if this is normal for Omega watches.

The movement of this watch is the Co-Axial 9300 Automatic.

Thank you.

Sometimes you will hear a click when an automatic movement is fully wound as the mainspring slips.

Thanks for the reply Dan, is this a feature Omega made for their watches by design? I have own a few other automatic watches from other brands but none of them makes this clicking/ ticking sound when the watch is fully wound

It can be quieter or louder with different watches.

Slipping is good once fully wound. Sometimes a grinding type clicking when winding can be a crown wheel teeth issue. It doesn't sound like this is your case, and would be surprising indeed in a newer watch.

Could also mean broken mainspring.
