I know it is an 2016 model Pelagos, but this will go nicely with the GMT I am going to patiently wait for. Some nice Tudors out there for reasonable prices

 

The back of the watch protrudes differently on the BB GMT than the regular "new" BB. It feels a smidgen more "right" on my wrist than the "new" BB. BB GMT 14.5mm by my calipers vs BB 14.8mm on the same calipers. Old BB ETA is 12.6 same calipers. If you like the look, but are still fretting about the height, shop for the outgoing ETA version M79220...you can still find them about.

 

If everyone had the same taste in watches (or anything) it would be a boring world to live in. I never thought I'd buy a watch that had a silly "bubble" looking crystal as it looks too vulnerable to damage. Here I am loving my BB GMT. Sometimes you really don't know until you try to live with it.

First, I still love it. I’ve been wearing it pretty much nonstop since I’ve got it. Prior to getting it I heard nothing but warnings about the thickness but I don’t think it’s too think at all, relative to some of my other watches. It definitely seems thinner than the Planet Ocean or CK2998LE.
I’ve tried to take some pics of it on the wrist, but this put me in all sorts of ridiculous looking contortionist positions; I have no idea why I found it so hard!

I'm heading to Orlando for a week in October, and couldn't decide whether to bring my Ti Planet Ocean 9300 or my Rolex GMT II BLNR as my main watch. So, why am I thinking again about buying one of these, so I can bring it with me instead?

I'd thought I would end up trading my BLNR for a Pepsi someday, but the more I think about it I'd like to keep my BLNR which is a little more elegant and laid back looking than the Pepsi. So the Tudor GMT would be a little more fun, but still somewhat subdued and mature.

 

Looks like a beautiful watch, but definitely seeing a lot of these showing up for sale over the last few weeks... and not at a premium...

 

My research says last week the premiums overall AVERAGED $929.86 USD. Statistically significant sample size worldwide. Bracelet higher average, non-bracelet $554.57 USD premium. Local dealer(s?) here in Texas is MSRP....But there is a waiting list. So the premiums may be fueled by a "Gotta have it now" market segment.

 

That sure sounds like a good solution! BLNR is a beautiful watch and you could keep it while still fulfilling your Pepsi cravings going down the tudor GMT route!!

 

Damn, hope the Tudor GMT I ordered materializes. I see Rolex “Pepsi” GMT’s in the $8-12,000 range getting snapped up. If this Tudor GMT comes to fruition, I feel I got a smoking deal. Time will tell.

 

Sit tight. It will happen. There are a couple of date change issues which I suspect are slowing production. It’s a great watch. I love mine, and the best thing is that it looks equally at home on bracelet, strap or fabric.

Agreed. Maybe 6-9 months as the orders get filled. At rrp, these are remarkable value.

 

OK...time to face reality boys and girls! Took my TUDOR BLACK BAY GMT to the AD I bought it from as it is exhibiting the phenomenon that is being reported worldwide...date changing issues. I noticed it the first week of ownership but assumed I had set the watch incorrectly. This morning I noticed what you see in the picture. Over 10 hours after the date should have changed, it had not changed properly. Not only that, but if it had...it went half way to the NEXT date! I had stayed up late the night before and it had changed properly to "20" before 00:15 - I wasn't staring at it but glanced at 5 minutes till midnight and 15 minutes after. But last night it had some kind of issue. Do not be in a hurry to buy one of these. You are NOT dealing with an Omega! This is Tudor's new movement that is not ready for prime time. Only time will tell how this shakes out.

Apparently there is an over librication issue. I had the same but mine is now sorted.

I rotated mine round approx 2/3 months using the jump hands function. Seemed to sort it out. Give it a try.

 

Btw - various Rolex have had the same issue recently. Is not just a Tudor thing as frustrating as it is.

 

I took the watch to the AD so they can get the warranty work accomplished. I do not do warranty work. I do not expect a watch costing this much to need "sorting out". My Fossil ($69 on sale!) required no "sorting", any Squale requires no "sorting"...certainly no Omega. I can understand break in periods or adjustments to settle in accuracy, but fundamental function should be assured upon purchase. We will see whether Tudor is responsive to warranty claims and to what extent. Since this is happening worldwide; Tudor had a huge happy sales rush, now they have a significant liability to overcome. Bad publicity, worldwide, all at the same time, is the worst to overcome. Time will tell.

This circumstance is my fault, actually. A family rule for most of my life (being born in Detroit) is "never buy the first model year". It was a family policy I followed until this past month. Why I thought I could break that policy and get away without issues shows my silliness. Maybe I'm getting old. Mea culpa.
