I am lucky enough to have a black and white face AT's in my stable and they are not going anywhere, anytime.

I love the traditional teak dials, meant to reference a sailboat deck. Ultimately, I went for something a little-less common and grabbed a 2016 lacquered black wave dial. In most lights, the gloss makes it look pitch black, and the rose gold looks as if it is floating. At face up, the waves are straight black and grey (in a pattern of Portuguese sidewalk art, like Rio or Lisbon). And in some angles, you can see the sun-brushed effect on the dial.

I haven't seen them in the flesh, but I know they made a white wave and a blue wave that same year.

i love this style too - the yellow gold on blue dial is also very striking. The wave pattern is more subtle on this style than on the black.....I enjoy wearing both styles!!

So the blue one is on the right? It almost looks black in the photos. Does the blue one come with yellow gold? The black has rose gold hands, etc.

Yep the blue is on the right and both dials look jet black in certain light. You’re also right in that the blue dial has yellow gold markers / hands...
The wave pattern on the blue is also more subtle so disappears more frequently whereas on the black is some lighting its very prominent, almost like grey strips..

I think Omega nailed those combinations.

Since the pics were taken, I’ve brushed the centre links on both bracelets.

It was one of your earlier pictures that drew my attention to this variation of the AT so i have you to thank for it 😀

Cheers

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is a knock out watch, a little pricey considering what else in on the market but I too have always had an Aqua Terra itch I need to take care of soon.

An Aqua Terra is a do everything watch. Mine gets more wrist time time than either my speedmaster or my smpc

New to the world of Omegas and high-end watches, but recently became part of the AT family, thanks to a great purchase from @Kringkily. Was hesitant to pull the trigger on the 38.5 size AT Skyfall, but so glad I did. My Seamaster Professional is a 41.5mm and while that size suits a diver, this style seems to be made for a smaller size. I have trouble taking it off (because I enjoy it so much!), but already have some straps on the way to change up the look. Will be sure to post those in another thread.

Thinking of trading my SMP 300mc for an AT -- I have a surplus of divers and nothing as everyday dressy as an AT. Wondering from owners if the lume on these decent, and is the blue-blue version legible?

Love the case and teak dial, and would probs go 41mm with my 6.75-inch wrist.

Have had my eye on an AT forever... finally pulled the trigger! Went with the rubber band as I already have a stee bracelet watch, like rubber, and plan on picking up the blue leather band at some point as well!

I think this is one of the best blue face options out there, esp. with the teak design!

Not a great shot but the lume on my AT from last year is very legible. Gerry

That's awesome that the pics lead to your choice! 😀

Can you show me what they look like with the centre links brushed? I really enjoy the polished center channel, but can see why some choose to brush. I have to be careful to avoid scratches to keep it looking new, whereas a brush finish would not have that issue.

My resolve didn’t last very long! This time it will be a keeper.

Congrats!!! Enjoy it!!

I think we are all looking for that "perfect" watch that doesn't exist for most of us. I know for me, I have bought and sold quite a few watches while on the hunt for that "perfect" watch, only to find myself not even enjoying the time piece as I was always hunting for what could next, what could be "better".

For me, my AT is one a few watches I've seen released, and immediately put it on a list of watches that just clicked for me. The configuration I purchased is the exact configuration I was interested in. The other one I plan to buy for my 30th birthday is a black dial/green crystal Milgauss.

The purchase of my AT has been a rare one, in that I have not had the urge to hunt for the next best thing. I also have a unique connection to some of the design elements and my late father.

Thanks and I agree with absolutely everything you have said. Important to appreciate what you already have and not constantly look towards what else might be...
