It amazes me the reluctance to believe the facts on Climate change and how the human race is affecting it. The NASA link is worth sharing again just to counter the huge amount of fake news on this subject

You have a point here. 😉 Maybe I'll get back to vintage...

as posted before

Not in my eco friendly house, that has banned all products that are harmful to the environment or animal tested. I live remote and am a keen fisherman, scrutinise everything that goes in the water. We even make our own washing powder and cleaning products.
Mrs Standy is a entomologist who even cares for the insects by building houses like below for them

Even have a little basket hanging in the garden for birds to get nest supplies, sticks, grasses, wild cotton. 😉

Yup. What is most saddening though is the lack of effort on the part of the people who already acknoledge the problem. The latest COP = ::facepalm1::

As often, change will come with end-users and consumers.

Well if you say so, but it seems odd that someone would spend the time and effort to become a proper watchmaker, and then just be a salesperson...

Not surprised that much myself: if the guy does not want do change town and be buried in an anonymous service center somewhere, he gets to stay where he is, probably maintain his salary and get a commission on the sales he makes: probably a no brainer for him if he has a family.
Sad, but probable.

Those are hardly the only two options...

On the environmentalist sentiment: the airplane you would've been on still made its flight to Florida and another one came back. I don't think your rather rash reception of the invitation to attend a special event is warranted in the sense that Omega is not responsible for that flight occurring.

If the whole world has this opinion...yes. If the whole world has the OP opinion, and doesn’t fly unnecessarily....no

On Topic: Where Omega is heading
Results in: Global warming ...
😕

Indeed, it's quite unfortunate that the whole discussion ended up on global warming. This was not my purpose. But it's true that when you see someone speaking of "environment hysteria" when there is so much evidence on climate challenges and disasters, it could hardly be avoided.

Anyway, my goal was rather to describe a strategy that I consider to be more and more misaligned with clients' values and interests. At least mine.

On topic...
On the negative side, I'm sure 2019 was a missed chance to bring out an incredible 50th Apollo 11 stainless steel Speedmaster with the DNA (321) of the timeless 1969 toolwatch chronographs used by the Apollo astronauts.

.
A positive note is the fact that Omega embraced Social Media and enhanced the Speedmaster fans community via the #SpeedyTuesday to get to the minds a hearts of all Speedy fans, a unique way to create a community... in cooperation with Fratellowatches!
After the sucess of two special #SpeedyTuesday LE Speedmaster chronographs, Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said in a few YouTube interviews that they think about tackling flippers and at the same time making sure real Omega fans ( registered #SpeedyTuesday members ? ) get their hands on the next special edition.
He also mentioned "Celebrating the past is important & failure is not an option" ... so let's wait & see what they will come up with to celebrate 50 years Apollo 13 as the 50th A13 Speedmaster
