I recently acquired this IWC in a trade. I am rather happy with it (plan on keeping it either way) however did have a few questions for the experts.

The case serial number dates the watch to circa 1960.

    1. Is the dial an older refinish? (I think it is) Shouldn't the dial be signed "SWISS"?
    2. A mix & match gold dial/hands and steel case?
    3. What is the correct crown for this watch? Fish crown?
    4. Would it originally have have a signed buckle? If so, which one?
    5. What kind of brand was IWC at the time?

I am thinking about getting a nice black alligator for this watch.

Let me know if any additional details would be helpful.

    Thanks!

    1. Yes, it's refinished.
    2. Most of these are with silver dauphine hands and markers. But I assume gold furniture is possible in a steel case.
    3. Fish crown but also unmarked crowns. The crown on yours is incorrect.
    4. Not necessary. Sometimes they pop up on ebay.
    5. High end bad ass brand

Thank you very much for sharing! What is the correct crown diameter? I can't wait to get this vintage high end bad ass watch on the wrist! :)
