This should be easy for the experts - is this a redial?

Just wanted to confirm before I cancel my order. After only a few days I’m starting to understand how undesirable these modified watches are. It seems like this is a modified dial based on my own judgement, Just want a second opinion before I cancel my order.

Hard to tell with this photo. The contrast is so poor that it's really difficult to see the font, the minute track and the crosshair.

OP, do you have a photo of the movement and the inside of the case back?

Too fuzzy and blurry to say for sure, but I very slightly lean to original.

A Google search shows the same dial configuration in the same reference. The only thing my novice eyes catch is that the vertical line of the crosshair seems slightly off center, but that may be parallax. Definitely wait for the OF experts to weigh in.

It looks like a CK 2890 to me, but I still can't read the inside of the case back clearly. If it is a 2890, that would be a jumbo reference. The serial number would put the year of manufacture around 1952. Given that it's a waffle dial, I'm going to agree with Foo2rama and say that it's likely original. Dial looks to be in exceptional condition for its age and the crown looks correct. I can't really tell from the photos whether the case has been polished, but I would be surprised if it hasn't been. An unpolished case would be a plus. What's the asking price and do you know when it was last serviced?.

I'm by no means qualified to give you an 'expert' opinion as I'm early in the journey to. For what it's worth I think it looks legit. I base this assumption on previous reading where I've heard mention that the waffle dial is very hard to replicate (not worth the trouble). Also the font for Omega (circular G) and crosshairs seem to be ok.
Please don't take this as gospel, I'm testing my knowledge as much as you and waiting to get shot down 🙄

Well I am surprised to hear the slight nod towards unadulterated. I have heard enough to go through with the purchase and I will take good photos and report back so we can get a better estimation.

the cost to me was $473 via eBay and was advertised after sale as just having got a service.

I would ask for proof of the service, but this seems like a very good deal to me. Hope it works out for you.
