Ok gang, this is part of my own personal training as I try to learn how to spot a fake... 😉 There are two details on this one that don't seem not right to me, first is the shape of the "S" in Seamaster on the dial, and the lack of the SM logo on the back case. what you say?

I also noticed the encryption "Ponga la junta en el fondo" on the inside of the back case - which translates to "place the gasket on the bottom" Probably sold to some Spanish-speaking country? 👎

It's definitely a redial, and it's not a Bienne made case.

Here's my non-expert opinion.

1. It a rather poorly executed redial. "Tachmetre"? I think not.

2. Case is correct for the watch. The 4 languages engraved on the inside are standard for waterproof Omegas of this era.

3. Couldn't view the pics of the movement on my iPhone. From the discriptions provided by the seller, all sounds in order.

4. The cases on these did not have the Hippocampus.

Overall assessment is that this watch is not something that would interest me at this time. My guess is that it will sell for more than market value.

I agree with gators assessment.

Case and movement are correct, bad refinish on the dial.

I agree with the above - satisfactory movement and case and crappy dial. May be something to watch and purchase if the price is low enough.

Not my type, it was my mere curiosity regarding its authenticity - currently at 21 bids and at $1375 with a day left, it's definitely well outside of my "good deal" range.

Actually anything under $2k would be a good deal for this watch. The cal. 321 movement alone is worth at least $1k.

Well, the auction has ended and the final price is a shade under $2400. All things considered, that's still not too bad a price for the watch.
