62mas: crowns and case-backs

I just received my first 1st-series 62mas, a.k.a. reference 6217-8000, so I thought I'd make a short thread to mention the variations. The 6217-8000 was made only briefly in April-May 1965 and is most easily recognized by the small crown. The dolphin case-back is in very shallow relief that often wears badly. Subsequently, the second series 6217-8001 was produced for several years. It has a larger crown, and was released with two different case-backs, a plain text-only version and a dolphin case-back with much higher relief.

A beauty, congrats! A 62MAS was on my list for a while and I’m glad I was able to grab one in January. It is a big crown with a dolphin caseback in great condition.
