Hi everyone,
I just bought a „non-runner“ 565.012 on eBay and was wondering where I can restore it. So once the movement was out of its case one could easily see the issue: it was dripping of oil…
However that tons of oil has ruined the dial. does anyone know what would be best thing to do?
I fear I won’t get a dial for that ladies watch.
One more thing: the crystal does even not fit to the case, but luckily this is something I already found to buy. appreciate any help!

Your dial is dead. The oil has degraded the lacquer coating and the base layer. You could try soaking it in a mild solution of Simple Green and water to remove the oil, but I suspect it will remove more of the dial.

Restoration of the dial will cost more than the value of the watch.

If it was mine, I'd go for a clean dial look by removing all surface imperfections and hopefully preserving the base layer, then masking the index markers and applying a fine clear coat to the dial.

Thank you Jim.
I'll keep the eyes open, maybe I can get one on the bay. I know that the watch is not of a real value but I like having things original.
I'm also pretty sure my wife wont like to have that watch anyways 😀 😀
