Hello all,

I bought an Omega on ebay some time ago. The pictures were very bad, but the price was only a little more than the gold price, so the risk seemed low to me.

When the watch came I noticed that the watch has a French case. Since the rose gold case is beautiful and the watch is also a great size at 36mm, I kept it and my watchmaker revised the movement. Unfortunately, the watch has a redial (i my mind) and i never worn it.

What would you do with the watch? Or do you have an idea how I would get a suitable dial?

PS: I took the pictures of the movement before the revision.

Best, Andreas

Unfortunately, the watch has a redial

I am not so sure about that. maybe it was a swap from a swiss-cased SM because of the absence of "Fab. Suisse"

I would keep it as is and wear the hell out of it, its a nice watch and has a good wearable size.

Not sure it is a redial either. It looks genuine to me, maybe not original to the case, but who knows...

Oh, it would be great if it is not a redial 😀. I suspected that because the "A" in Omega is a bit blurred.

I'll have to think about keeping it then. Or maybe trade it in for another watch if. It cost me 750€ plus 200€ for the revision. How do you estimate the value? Find the few comparable offers.

The blurring is relegated to such a small area, so it is probably due to improper cleaning.
For valuations it would be best to check the sold section on ebay for 18k manual winds. I don't think people are going to be very open about the price since you've just admitted that you want to flip it.

Thanks for the info, I'll see if it stays. I've not been active here long but I hope it's clear from my posts that I didn't just want to pick up info on the watch to sell it - if I had, I would have written that directly 😀.

That would be great, then maybe I won't put anything on it. Will post it here for exchange for another watch when I have enough posts 😀.

My feeling is that there is a small repair to the "A", but it is not completely refinished.

Looks like a botched cleaning attempt on the dial. I vote original. Case is very nice.
