When I wind my Speedie the crown rotates backwards is this normal?
I wind it forward towards 12 and when I release the crown I can see the crown rotate backwards.
It does this even when the watch is completely unwound.
Is this normal?

yes

Thank you!
Problem solved.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to break anything.

The crown should reverse a bit after it has been turned in the winding direction. But it should only back up maybe about 1/4 of a turn.

Seems like a good thread for a reminder that there are no silly questions.

At some point most of us have probably spent a pretty big chunk of hard-earned cash to buy a watch from a sales assistant who cares more about their commission than about explaining how to care for it.

People here love sharing knowledge built up over years or even decades. Great to see the picture of your new watch!
