Wifeys new AT 34mm. 8800 cal. Noticed that the rotor spins when winding the crown. Only happens when held horizontal, not when it’s vertical.
Keeps good time.
Do I need to be concerned.
Thanks in advance for all replies.

Time for a service. It's not right for the auto-winding to be locked up like that.

well its a brand new watch, less than a couple of weeks old so I don't think its ‘due’ for a service. It may need looking at though, thats why I’m asking. 👍

Ask for a replacement if possible. Charging part of the movement is broken (common issue in 2824 sw200 family).
Happened once to me with an Oris.

OK, it's broken. Is that better?

Awaiting a call from the OB and found this…

My watch easily falls within these limits but I will get it checked out anyway next time I am at the OB.

If it doesn't spin a whole turn then it's ok. I thougt it spinned "crazily" as did mine.

It was spinning ‘crazily’ when held horizontally. At about 20 degrees off horizontal it didnt spin, just swung back and forth a little. Since putting it on the winder it doesn't ‘spin’ when horizontal now, just ‘jiggles’ a bit. Seems like it's loosening up or maybe lube dispersing and getting into or out of the works. It was never jammed up.
I have a PO and the rotor doesn't move at all, in any orientation.

If horizontally spins like crazy, I would send it for service anyway.

The rotor on the cal. 8800 in my Seamaster has never, ever moved the tiniest bit while winding via the crown, even after almost three years of continuous running.

The Watchuseek screenshot above references Sellita and has no bearing on your issue. The linked Watchuseek thread above is referencing ETA and Sellita movements. Your watch isn't equipped with either.

It isn't operating correctly. The amount of torque applied to the winding mechanism by the rotor moving even a "little" when mannually winding is extraordinary. It will only be worse in the future.

The charging mechanism with rotor and twin wheels is similar.

There are many similar parts in most movements. It doesn't make their characteristics the same.
