I have a question. I have the Apollo 11 50th anniversary and I was wondering if the new speedmaster bracelet will fit on it. I like the flat link bracelet but it would be cool to switch it up. If this has been asked and I missed it. Sorry I’m advance

Hey guys. So I picked up the new hesalite 3861 over the weekend and got a bunch of questions from people if the new style bracelet will fit on the old style 1861 case.

Because I own both watches, I decided to perform the bracelet swap to answer the question and show you guys the fitment. To skip the long story, the answer is YES the new bracelet will fit the old 1861 case with no problem. I used the spring bars that came with the 3861 for this exercise and the end link fitment seemed almost perfect.

Please see the below shots:

This is a back shot of the new 3861 case with bracelet mounted:

Here is the 1861 on TOP and the 3861 on BOTTOM:

Here are some side-by-side case comparisons of both watch cases (1861 on right 3861 on left):

You can see how the side profile lug shape is different on the 3861. You will also notice the 3861 case height is slimmer.

And BEHOLD, here we have the 3861 bracelet mounted on the 1861 case:

And here is this configuration on my wrist:

I estimate Omega to charge $800+ for this new 3861 bracelet independently should you want to purchase this as a separate item to upgrade your 1861 case. The alignment of this bracelet to the case is pretty much perfect from what I can see and wears quite comfortably, although I personally still prefer the Ed White flat link bracelet but I have confirmed that the case and hole position of the new 3861 case will NOT allow for the flat link to be installed. I tested this with both the Speedy Anniversary end links as well as my Uncle Seiko end links with two types of spring bars.

Best of luck to all of you on your decisions to either invest in a 1861 or new 3861. Either way you cannot go wrong but I hope this pictorial will help you regardless.

Cheers,

M
Many thanx great post!

Hey! Thanks for the interesting post and pictures! I have been thinking about putting the (matte version) 3861 bracelet on my ST 1 and wondered if anyone has already tried this and might be able to share some pictures / experience?

The 3861 bracelet also fits my 105.012 and 145.022. Sweet.

I’d love it if you could post more pics or talk about the fit for the 145.022. I’m thinking of getting one of these for mine.

I will be fitting my 3861 Sapphire bracelet to my 1861 Hessalite Moonwatch on Friday. Will let you all know how it goes (and looks). I went for the Sapphire for my Snoopy 50 but want better access to the case back animation so am going back to the nylon strap.

Looking forward to your post very much as it’s the same I want to do. Would you mind sharing the part reference number of the 3861 Sapphire bracelet? Many thanks for sharing in advance!

My search skills must be failing, so I thought I’d ask here. Can the bracelet from the 1863 sapphire fit on the new 3861 sapphire Speedy? I’d prefer a bracelet with less taper and ideally use something like the bracelet from the “Rising Sun” Speedy (ref: stz006272).

Happy to start a new thread if a better place.

Hi all, I have the opposite question w.r.t. the previous one.

I mean, this new Omega 020STZ013434 bracelet does it fit also the Speedmaster 1863 sapphire watches ?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
please any info on which is the reference of the brushed/polished new bracelet for the 3861 ?

The part number listed on my receipt is 020STZ014752. I don't see that number anywhere on the bracelet itself, though.

I took the bracelet off my watch this morning to look, and with the exception of the clasp, the only numbers I see on the bracelet itself are:
STZ014753
STZ014754

Those are on the center link on each end (the ones that fit into the end link).

I ordered mine through an OB in the US, and I never needed the part number.

I just returned from my local OB and they fitted the Omega Speedmaster "Rising Sun" bracelet on my Saphire 3861 without issue. I think it looks great and it confirms that the older bracelet will fit on the newer Speedmaster - at least the one for the special edition Speedmaster with the adjustable clasp. Here are some pictures and one of them has the reference number in it. My OB ordered, sized, and fit it on my Speedy Moonwatch.

Your photos show how much shorter the lugs are on the new 3861 case vs. the older 1861. The end links on the older style bracelet stick out beyond the lugs on the new case. I've been contemplating getting the new tapered bracelet for my 1861 speedy but have been OCD concerned about the lugs sticking out beyond the end links..
