·I've been going further back in time with my collecting the last 18 months or so. I'd kind of played most out of what I wanted and which was achievable for me from the 60's and 70s and it had been getting harder and harder to find nice 50's Constellations and Seamasters to add to my collection, which has left me focusing on some of the larger case references of the 1940's.
This wonderful CK2393 with cal 33.3 has just arrived to me a couple of days ago in a trade deal with one of our respectable members @MtV and I thought it well worthy of a small post of its own. It's a true survivor and has just had the Rolls Royce of services to get it to how it's looking today, this as Matt had originally sourced it a few months ago as a bag of bits, not knowing whether it was fully complete or not...
The ref 2393 has a very striking case design with a thin bezel, short, hard angled lugs and olive pushers which works really well both on and off the wrist.
The dial is really weathered and to my eyes the definition of wabi-sabi: imperfect but beautiful 🥰 Copper, grey and red...TBH not my go to combination for a watch dial...but somehow it just works!
I'm real happy with this one and it fits in extremely well with my small collection of 40's chronos 😀
