Got the call last week and going in to view in a couple of days (London OB). Somewhat surprised to get an allocation although I do have some purchase history with this OB and they seem to get a regular allocation of a 321 each quarter just now.

Beyond excited and nicely in time for a big birthday this year.

Excellent, congrats, wear in good health, etc, etc. People complained about the big box and Omega downsized it for the 3861 series. Maybe they listened, most likely they wanted to save a few francs per watch (no NATO, no spring bars, no spring bar tool, no loupe, no booklet, no big medallion, and the smaller box).

Thanks. Fully intend to get a lot of regular wear from this one. Not complaining about the box, just caught me by surprise on the walk back to my office compared to other Omega boxes I have!

I'm not going to lie, I am seriously jealous. That watch is amazing. I wish I could afford one to start with, nevermind trying to order one from an AD.

Enjoy it, and hopefully you'll be able to pass it on to the next generation many years from now.

Great watch.

Love it!
I keep debating one but I just fear I will find it too much like my 3861 so haven't pulled the trigger yet.

The 321 movement is much more attractive. I think they use a non reflective coating on the Ed White. It really looks so good. I didn’t realize I would like it so much more.

The 3861 is a great daily watch. You will worry less about getting it knocked around.

The Ed White wears differently, operates (winding and chrono feel) differently, and looks different than a 40mm twisted lug standard Speedmaster. You won't find overlap and you'll almost certainly prefer it to the 3861 in short order. I have both, no comparison, the 321 wins easily.

Yeah all of this. It wears totally differently and I really like the slim and tapered bracelet. I don’t have a standard 3861 but do have a Rising Sun. This does wind and wear very differently.
