If they made the watch slightly less long L2L they might have a winner on their hands. Always liked it, just a little large for my wrist

Yea, It'll be interesting what they go with given it hasn't been their strongest seller. Tbh I prefer the more 'classy/classic' design than that of the SMP but each to their own. Perhaps shorter lug to lug as suggested above, but thickness-wise seems okay to me - I don't find my Speedy thick under a shirt cuff.

I never had a problem with the thickness. Maybe only on the Omega Nato. That's why I tend to wear it on the bracelet or on the C&B Chevron.
I also like the jumping hour hand feature, hope they retain it.

What would be a welcomed change is the end links, as mentioned. Should be made like those on the 60th, bracelet pivoting on the spring bar. That will ease the L2L perceived length enormously.

I would love a box sapphire, but that would likely make it thicker. Probably not a good idea.

If the rumour is true this is exciting news! I sold my 300MC because I found it too big (especially lug to lug) and too thick. I hope this version will improve on these aspects.

If the reduced the height, and had lyre lugs - game changer

How soon would they do roll out an Omega 300m Diver update? Would they do it for the 30th anniversary in 2023 since the last one was in 2018?

5 year cycle seems quick to me

I'd really love to see an update! I'd already be happy if they tone down the fauxtina a bit...
Hopefully there will be a new PO soon as well...

They could homage the following generation of 300's (164.024) and reissue the 2500 era PO (at least in size and proportions), with lumed ceramic bezel, sword hands and loosing the He valve, of course. That would be a nice Seamaster 300 !

That would indeed!

Cool, but that's not what's coming 😉

Now this post has me curious -- any chance you could reveal more information, or at least when we might hear from Omega about this update?

Give it some lyre lugs and applies indices and I think I'm in! Does the recessed lume bug anyone? Gives me sort of a visceral reaction, like someone hacked into the dial. Same reason I couldn't pull the trigger on a Baltic Aquascape, which otherwise looks like a really fun watch design.

Watch Advisor just released a video on the americas cup planet ocean where they are at the actual boutique with the head of product so I imagine we are close to seeing a new 300mc update given they would shoot all the references at once.

I'd be happy if they kept all the aesthetics, and just made the watch smaller with pivoting end links.

This is interesting news indeed....I think if they hybridized the Seamaster 300 LE/Trilogy with the 300MC they could have a winning combination.

But I wonder if this release will be a modern callback to the 2nd gen Seamaster 300? That would be incredible.

I wonder how this model sells. I like it more than the current or updated SMP, but I wonder if it's too vintage influenced, or influenced by the wrong historic model, to truly be popular.

The way it wears and feels on wrist never bothered me, and I'd happily pick one up if the current version drops a little in price.
