that’s all great and all

but the battery life isn’t enough to last a return journey to Mars is the bigger flaw in my book…

Quite right.
Although there is a youtube video of a battery change performed by an Astronaut on an X-33 in space which i think is on-board the ISS.
So at least that aspect will be covered by someone who would be competent enough which i assume would include the average Astronaut or their equivalent👍

A real watch service may be more problematic though👎

It's all food for thought😉

Appears to gold, guessing this will not be an "Everyman" reveal.

10 year anniversary is made of “aluminum”… but these pics clearly hint at gold… so, yes, $$$$.

The Gold Side of the Moon, limited production, with subdial at 9 o’clock indicating 10, 20 and 60 or 10, 30 and 50 for balance… and skeleton dial!?

The pictures show a hairspring, new component and then a picture with the stricture of graphene (as identified by Graemega a few post above).
The more "simple" explanation would be a new hairspring made of polycrystalline graphene...
Is is technically feasible ? Does it makes sense for the mechanical needed characteristics ? Any one has (a little) knowledge about this ?

Having a look online- Richard Mille have used graphene to create an ultralight watch- see this article:

I also wonder if the 10 could mean something else...

10hz?
1/10th second chronograph?
10 days PR?

EDIT: could also be a double meaning. For the 10th anniversary of the DSOTM, a new DSOTM with 10 ________.

DSOM has 10 years and it is expected to be updated so for sure it is a good candidate for new cutting edge materials but I would prefer a mechanism technological advance instead of new casing material 😀

The hand's finish looks a lot like the matte blue used on the Snoopy, but rendered in yellow. If that's the case, they might be light aluminum hands. Anyone else think this might be a rattrapante?

Graphene has properties related to conductivity as well… I’m still stuck on the tiny device reference

Whatever it is I suspect most here on OF will be disappointed, most new releases now aren't in the price range most of us are comfortable with. But maybe Omega will come down to earth and release something really cool in the normal SS price range.
