We had nothing for Apollo XVII (extremely disappointing)
How about 72h power reserve (+2h more than the new rolex movement) which would match the time Apollo XVII stayed on the lunar surface.
Just a wondering (I have no insights)
But on a speedy pro, than means a new caliber, so bye to 3861.
May be for the DSTM

‘Tiny device, massive change’ … I hardly think any craps could be given for any added power reserve on a hand wound watch (unless it was huge like 1000h) … the whole reason we pedant watch blokes buy hand wound watches is because we like to hand wind them … every day … or maybe I just speak for myself here …

I think the new movement might go into a Dark Side of Moon, that model is overdue for update and it’s one of the few that is not master chronometer. The Speedy pro is only a couple years old , unlikely they will update it.

what if, its a fully ceramic movement? no metal parts. Maybe build off the Apollo 8 and make it skeletonized.

Maybe the “tiny device” is referring to an integrated circuit, something along the lines of a Spring Drive type of movement? This could make sense why the spring is also shown in the teaser video. Just dreaming here.

The only massive change I was able to experience in my life was Beetle followed by Golf . Rear-wheel drive vs front-wheel drive, air cooling vs water cooling, round vs angular.
We will certainly not be "shocked" on that Thursday. 👍

Spring driven/charged smartwatch/X33 type .... no charging or battery required. (as long as we are speculating on potential "massive change" innovation)

That actually sounds kind of cool, a spring driven quartz movement would be a huge innovation, no more batteries, manual or automatic wind

Not everyone wears their Speedmaster daily or enjoys winding it daily -- I know I don't. If they made an 8-day power reserve version, I'd be all over it. I could wind it once a week then alternate with my Seamaster and not have to worry about whether I had wound it yesterday or not.

I have a Panerai manual wind with ca. 90 hours power reserve but the thought of having to wind it to full is not something to look forward to, also the accuracy is off the more it's powered down so with an 8 day PR I can only imagine it being worse.
