Wish this would have been implemented in a standard Speedy first. The technology sounds pretty cool, but then its probably not all that appealing to most .. they want a new model.

I don't like the look of this at all. Especially the underground carpark barrier sub hand.

I dislike most everything. The striped sub hand you mentioned, the use of that sickly yellow, like pus, the atrocious honeycomb dial and the tilted date font for absolutely no reason.

A lot of haters in here but I'm a big fan. It's probably going to be my next watch if it can stay under 10k, though it probably won't. Excited to see it in person.

Current racing version is $8500 (not counting the incoming hike), so I'm gonna peg this at $12900.

Discounts are highly likely for that particular model.

My big thing is I'm not a fan of 2 subdial chronos unless it's a dress watch like the VC CdV, ALS 1815 Chrono, or Patek 5170. I prefer the 3 subdial chronos for sporty watches.

I also prefer 3 subdials but having a date is pretty big for me. Would be cool if they went the Breitling route and put a date at 6 on the subdial but I'll take what I can get lol.

2 subdial and a date just looks...off to me. 3 subdial and a date I could live with.

Isn't current METAS standards at +0 to +5 per day, with actual experience for the 3861 at about +2? I can't get too excited about a cerified rate of +2, especially if it's going to cost more money.

It's a certified rate of between 0 and +2. Like many things, the closer you get to perfection, the harder small gains are to achieve. This is pretty much a direct challenge to Rolex with their "superlative" thingy that they certify in-house (in other words, trust us, we've never lied to you in the past right?).

For me the big thing will be if this is certified through another class of METAS ratings or not. If it is, that's pretty big news if you care about actual timekeeping. Certainly not everyone does, as we all collect for our own reasons.

Once it's adjusted, how long will it stay in the range 0 - +2? If it's between 5 year service interval then that is impressive. Longer, even more so. But if it requires more frequent servicing to maintain the regulation then that could be an issue.

So will the new movement be called calibre 9910? It looks like a 9900 except for the new parts.

Average rate numbers only tell a part of the story, but to back that up the delta must be highly controlled. I'll be interested to see the numbers when more details are available.

For me this is far more exciting that another space related LE or something similar...and I'm sure it will make its way to other models in good time.
I’m on a waiting list for a 2022 speedmaster 57. Can this type of change be implemented fairly quick in existing movements or will it take quite a while/require newly designed movements? Really just wondering if I should wait or maybe it will be quite a while before it makes it way into other models. Then again my AT and SMP 300 are both performing at 0+2 currently so I’m not sure how excited I should be ‍♂️

Even if they could easily integrate the spirate system into existing movements, they're not going to undercut sales of a limited edition to do so for a few years at least.
