I dislike most everything. The striped sub hand you mentioned, the use of that sickly yellow, like pus, the atrocious honeycomb dial and the tilted date font for absolutely no reason.

So can we put you down as a “maybe”?

😜

Joking aside, depends on how well it sells. If it's a flop, I wouldn't be opposed to buying one at a steep discount just to flip it in five years when the watch enthusiast websites start posting contrarian articles "reevaluating" the Super Racing Speedy and how it revolutionized the accuracy of the entire brand. Some idiot will probably pony up Daytona money for it at that point.

It's a certified rate of between 0 and +2. Like many things, the closer you get to perfection, the harder small gains are to achieve. This is pretty much a direct challenge to Rolex with their "superlative" thingy that they certify in-house (in other words, trust us, we've never lied to you in the past right?).

For me the big thing will be if this is certified through another class of METAS ratings or not. If it is, that's pretty big news if you care about actual timekeeping. Certainly not everyone does, as we all collect for our own reasons.

Looks like they're saying it is METAS certified: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/...ronometer-chronograph-44-25-mm-32930445101003

Not saying I totally agree, but…

Even if they could easily integrate the spirate system into existing movements, they're not going to undercut sales of a limited edition to do so for a few years at least.
My feelings as well, although I don't think the 57 is limited…just hard to get right now/behind on production.

If I was looking for a watch right now in the current market, and not wanting to go grey, and not able to get a Rolex by just walking into the store, I'd take a pass on this one. Reasons? First, it's a big mother. Second, it's not likely to be rare. Third, it's $11K USD. I'd lean more toward a Seamaster Bond 60 or Green Seamaster.

I do like the dial and the details. Those are not problems for me.

A lot of haters in here but I'm a big fan. It's probably going to be my next watch if it can stay under 10k, though it probably won't. Excited to see it in person.

Omega saying 11K, so maybe from an AD you're under 10K?

Yes, but unless it is to a different METAS standard, one tighter than the rest of the watches, it's a slight disappointment...

Well the Fratello writeup reads like a new METAS certification
"Omega can now achieve a precision of 0/+2 seconds per day on average, certified by METAS."

Somebody do something with s-Pirate...

Increased accuracy combined with decreased legibility...

I own an old simple racing dial model, with 3 counter dials and a date in 40mm case, which i bought as new from AD a year ago for less than the retail price (retail: 4.100€).

Unforunately i can't afford the new prices....

I don't mind the aesthetic, I actually quite like it. I also care about accuracy, so this is wonferful for me. Omega should be congratulated for innovating in areas not related to depth rating or case material. Having said that....Canadian $15,000?! That's insane to me.

Was banking on it being in the chronoscope case. I've tried on the racing a number of times and it just looked too big. I'll probably wait until watches and wonders and if nothing great shows up, I'll get the 57' in black.

2 subdial and a date just looks...off to me. 3 subdial and a date I could live with.

3 Subdial and a date here 😀

However, I like the 2 dials chronos as well. It comes with a nice box, nice travel box which is the service box but specialised for this watch and a Nato strap. I believe specialised nato straps looks the best on racing speedies. I'm also amazed mine on a Nato. The texture is also very nice, however like mine would seem more sporty maybe. I overall loved the design of the watch and the new technology is also very nice. Yellow lume is also fantastic! For me there are only 2 negative things though:

1- the size. It's so big I would never go for that. (The reason I'm owning 40mm version)

2- Super Racing name. This is kinda iPhone Pro naming. You basically don't need to add so many things to the models I believe

Agreed. 44.25mm is pretty large.
