What a technical feat, certifying a watch for 0 - +2 s/d! Here's hoping that Spirate balance wheel assembly makes its way into more watches because I'm not a fan of Omegas larger offerings (if it's as big as it looks).

I think RJB is in Bienne at the moment for the official announcement.

Someone needs to have a talk with Greg Kissling about legibility. Cramming more that one hand in a sub counter makes the thing hard to read. I can tolerate that in the deep black (even if it’s as big as a Panerai) because they color coded the minute and hour chronograph hands, but the chronoscope and 57 are illegible. I hope there’s lots of kids with good eyes and crypto profits burning a hole in their little pockets because I’m a hard pass on illegibility (too Effing old to squint at a chronograph counter with identical hour and minute hands).

It's a clever approach... what can't be seen, can't be measured.😗

Anyone else find it weird that it says SuperRacing on the dial? I mean, this is the company that has produced the iconic Aqua Terra and Planet Ocean lines for years and years and they don't put the name on those dials....

I can’t wait until they come out with the SuperDuperRacing. I’ve had a preference for modern watches with the latest technology and I do appreciate companies pushing the limits further. Hanging out on this forum however and all the hub bub with every new is really pushing me towards vintage.

A chronograph that isn’t a chronograph is just a higher servicing bill later. The seamaster line has better two counter chronographs (ie, color coded hour & minute hands). I’m sure they didn’t have legibility in mind when they decided that. They just wanted to have the minute hand in the counter stand out because it’s a diver.

"Super" must be the marketing word of the year already. First overpriced Scotty Cameron with his "Super Select" line of putters, now the "Super Racing" from Omega.

The "regular" Speedmaster Racing doesn't say "Racing" on the dial, not sure why this one needs to say "Super Racing".

As someone that owns a recent Speedmaster Racing, is getting older and has a harder time reading things up close, and actually uses his chronograph on occasion, I can say that reading the dual-hand subdial isn't difficult, at least on my white dial version. I think it's an efficient use of space, and actually makes tracking elapsed time easier because you can see minutes and hours together without having to look at two different subdials.

But it is a chronograph...

I've been lurking around on watch forums for over a decade and I have never seen a single person express interest in the Wiz Khalifa Aqua Terra... why are they paying tribute to this? hahaha, so random!

This is my favorite AT, and a watch that I find to be pretty neat-o all around for a number of reasons. Do people really call it the "Wiz Khalifa" AT? Or is that your pet name? I don't know much about that guy, but I think hanging his handle on a watch is kinda funny. In fact, the more I look at your post, the funnier it gets.

I actually do find that watch interesting but I’m into esoteric models like that. I assumed the yellow and black was meant to allude to the magnetic field warning symbol or magnetic field lines on that Aqua Terra but it’s odd that they would now use it on this.

I wonder if the yellow and black stripe is being used as a symbol of a technology demonstrator model or pathfinder, as Omega typically pushes new tech and advancements out across most of, if not all of their range when they come out with something new.

Agree.

I owned a Speedy 9900 (can't recall model #) for a brief period and found it far, far harder to read than the much-maligned FOIS I bought to replace it.

I like the idea of a still-more accurate and reliable mechanical Omega -- but I expect this wee new part to exact a large price premium as they continue their march upmarket.

Average rate numbers only tell a part of the story, but to back that up the delta must be highly controlled. I'll be interested to see the numbers when more details are available.

For me this is far more exciting that another space related LE or something similar...and I'm sure it will make its way to other models in good time.

I don't like the look of this at all. Especially the underground carpark barrier sub hand.
