Morning all, I've got my 2254.50 registered on Chrono24 as part of my collection and value is ever increasing, but being curious I looked to see if there were any listings for an 2254.50 watches for sale in the UK, but alas there were none. This got me curious, so I then checked Watchfinder, again, no 2254.50, is it just me or is this model getting rarer and rarer as the years go by?

Try reviewing Watchrecon. They pop up there fairly often. The price has gone way up though. IN 2017, I acquired one for about $1700. They are routinely $2800 and up these days.

Yup! Its my pension plan!

Jokes aside I dont think they are rare yet, there is still a possibility to get one at a fair price.
But they also are listed at $ 3000-4000, and Omegas earlier black and white "military" dials are much sought after, demanding high prices so you never know.

Are you searching on 2254.50? I just did so and found 37 for sale on C24 in total with several in the UK. No the are not all that rare in my experience.

I don't think they can ever be considered rare, and not becoming rarer either. They are becoming more and more appreciated though and with that less people flipping. I think as further variations of Seamaster release over the years many people(myself included) see the 2254 as something of a modern classic.

As someone said on a similar conversation awhile back... "These 2254s are the "14060" of the Omega Seamasters"

The only reason you don’t see more 2254.50s for sale is that they’re really good watches that were a bargain when new and most of them are still on their original owners’ wrists, unserviced and still in use 15 or so years later as they’re a very durable and trouble-free watch.

Even though they’ve gone up in value they’re not worth selling as you can’t replace it with a watch anywhere near as good for the current sale price.

These and the 42mm PO 2500 are truly affordable gems that will never go out of style compared to modern offerings.

The orange 42mm PO2500 is the one I really wish I bought back in the day. I didn't have the money so I never got it. By the time I could get one, it was updated to the 8500 movement which was way too thick for me.

I think I spotted one of these for sale on the WUS, today.

Strangely the 2230.50 which is similar in that is has applied indicies on the dial with a WG bezel insert is trending for less.

Yes the value is rising slowly, but there is always at least one popping up for sale on Watchrecon weekly.

I sold mine because the male end links of bracelet wasn't working for me.

And yet it is the smart move. I've had two 2254s, neither wowed me and they were sent packing, the 2230 non-AC model is a solid keeper, combining as it does the best of the 2201 PO with the slim profile of the SMP.

I get why people like the 2254 plain dial though, it has more in common with the '60s SM300, but if you really want one of those, there is also the Watchco!

This is so true!

And they are easy to service, any watchmaker can do it.

Totally agree… the PO 2500 is a fab alternative to 2254 on MN or bracelet!

I beg to differ as having owned both before, the PO (42mm variant) is much thicker than the 2254. The appeal of 2254 to me is that it can maintain 40mm case size and not feel bulky for wear on bracelet. Aesthetics wise both bring different flavours to the plate, they are def attractive in their own way
