·Very interesting piece up for auction.....with a somewhat solid history and provenance. Could you ever wear it with that name on the back?

Non-magnetic case, reverse cover numbered "804383" and "22430", above numbers engraved signature "Hermann Göring". Requires cleaning, clockwork starts. Name engraving technically skilfully performed and presumably carried out at Göring's request in Nuremberg prison as a personal gesture for Lt. Jack Wheelis. Together with the poison capsule and a pair of gloves (also a Göring present to Wheelis) extensively described in the chapter "Göring's Spectacular Suicide" in John K. Lattimer, Hitler and the Nazi Leaders - A Unique Insight into Evil, on pages 101 - 108. Apart from pictures of the watch itself there is also - on pages 102/103 - a photograph of Wheelis wearing this watch on his wrist as well as the inventory list of Göring's personal items stored in the luggage room with this watch ("1 wristwatch / stop watch") mentioned on 10th position.
