Relating to last year, but because that thread is "dead" I figured I'd share an interesting factoid here...

Also, I'm excited to report that my wife got me tickets for the upcoming Miami GP!
Been watching F1 for the last 15 years or so and have yet to go to a race...but that changes this season!
Pretty stoked!

I used to go to the US GP in Austin pretty often. I've went with friends, my brother, and by myself. Great time no matter who I was with. Unfortunately can't go anymore. GF's bday is Oct 21 which gets celebrated the weekend of whenever US GP happens.

Everything’s in the air…

A Newey designed car with Alanso at the wheel definitely has promise.

Williams has seriously committed and has great drivers and a fresh slate. Ferrari with Lewis in a car designed by HIS designer…

Audis got money….

Anything can happen look at Brawn GP!

I remember when they first announced Austin I was living in NYC at the time (broke as shit) I priced out a trip to see it.
It was way more than I wanted to spend for tickets, flight, accommodations and etc. So I never really looked back into it.
When they announced Miami I was like, sweet! Something close. I couldn't go the first year - but heard it was kind of a mess.
So I thought I'd give them a couple years to hopefully smooth the weekend out a bit. So I guess we'll see!
The seats are at the last couple of corners (turns 17, 18, 19).

I can fly to Belgium and see Spa for less than driving and seeing the Las Vegas GP. I live less than 1,000 miles away. Pity seeing a manufactured venue is becoming so popular. Easy to get to, no work involved, watch on the screen in front of you. Pathetic experience. Go to Monza and find the banking. That’s F1.

All about that $$$$$
At least that is what Miami, and certainly Vegas seems like.

The 2026 contenders will be based on which team has figured out the new regs best, last time it was Mercedes. Driver's will play less of a roll for 2026.

Mercedes and Ford found the compression ratio loophole, putting them up 13 or so horsepower, so that should be interesting to see play out.

I actually canceled my expensive cable package recently. Only reason why I kept it was because F1 was on ESPN. Now that F1 moved to Apple, there's no need for me to continue paying AT&T a bunch of money anymore since I stopped caring about sports ball too.

I canceled cable a while ago.
But with all the apps and other streaming services, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm paying just as much again lol.
I was happy that F1 did consolidate with Apple TV. Allowed me to eliminate the $80 or whatever I was paying for F1TV.
Hopefully the coverage/content does not suffer....
