It's race week, and unfortunately for Lewis, his first one without Roscoe...
Always tough to loose a pet.

That is rather sad, Roscoe has been a longer presence in the F1 paddock than most drivers, he lost Coco a few years ago too, I wonder if he'll be adopting a new friend to take on the road with him

So sad, the loss of loved companion is a real gut punch. He loved that boy.

A little afternoon F1 to speed up an otherwise slow Friday at the office…

F1 is moving to Apple TV in the USA. Hoping for 4k. Hoping Sky remains and we don’t get the F1 broadcast.

Out in front of the Tag Heuer store in Austin today.

No Richard Mille boutique in Austin for the McLaren's or Ferrari's though. Las Vegas, yes. 😁

I received a notice today that the subscription to F1TV will no longer be available after this season. No interest in Apple TV. Guess this will be my last season to watch unless/until something changes.

Rat bastards

F1 TV Access will be available without an Apple TV subscription . F1 premium will be part of the Apple TV subscription I think.

Maybe I read it wrong. I certainly hope you are correct.

F1 TV Access is essentially nothing but live timing. I don't believe there is any live video coverage.
So if you want to actually watch races, you will need an Apple TV subscription where F1 TV Premium will be included with that subscription.

Apple TV+ is probably the best streaming service on the market right now, really good shows, the best quality and no expense spared in terms of performance with no ads. I'm pretty excited if we get it here, previously the TV deals in Australia blocked F1 TV subscription down under entirely.

Yeah people can say what they want about Apple, but as a streaming service, they really do put out top notch content.
So ok, you were paying either $85 for Premium or I think $125 for Pro for a seasons worth of F1TV which in is what, 9 months?
That effectively breaks down to $13.89 per month. Or $9.45 per month.
An Apple TV subscription is $12.99 per month (I think you can also get it for $99 annually which would break down to $8.25/month).
So not only is it not really a bad deal just from a numbers perspective, but you also get a lot of other really great stuff.
But people will still be pissed just because it is Apple lol.

I have Xfinity here in US and subscribe to the Streaming Bundle which includes Apple TV+, Netflix and Peacock for $15/mo.

The Apple deal doesn't seem awful, especially as an Australian. I wish they offered it here. We've never been able to get F1 TV Pro here due to a shitty licensing deal between F1 and Foxtel, i.e. Australian Sky.

Foxtel's online streaming service Kayo costs $40 AUD/m, only offers 4K on their Android/Apple apps so forced 1080p on a computer, no driver cams, no historic races - just the basic Sky feed. It's an absolute rort. You do get other sports, but I only regularly watch F1 so for me it's $40/m for F1. I split it with a mate but they'll probably crack down on that eventually like Netflix do.

Our situation has been such garbage for so long, I had to borrow a foxtel online login from an elderly relative to avoid pay per view rates on kayo

Several of Apples top execs like Eddie Cue and Phil Schiller are lifelong F1 fanatics so I would expect it to have sacred cow level treatment by Apple, the guys who matter don’t want to be the guy who ruins it.

Terrible day for Oscar today. Seems like the pressure is starting to get to him.

National anthem sung by a Hispanic kid in full mariachi uniform with a slight Hispanic accent was great.

Just make sure you're not directly under El Supremo's flyover 🤣

Living in Australia, and personally running on Povo spec, I'm interested in the Apple chat above. I haven't seen an F1 race on TV in decades. I did fly down to Melbourne one year but that was 95% to see The Who as after race entertainment.
I wonder if AI is smart enough to give me Murray Walker commentary on today's races? 🤔🤣

I need to catch up with my Grand Nephew. I wonder if Hot Wheels and Lego getting F1 licences recently is bringing the youngsters in to actually watch races, and what is the extent of having 'a local lad' 'doing good' affecting things.
Life, and its distractions, must be so different to how I grew up.
