It won't be the end of the world, Mercedes with all their wheelbarrows of money will find someone for the seat.......So at least someone else might get a go at getting their hands on some of it!

Again, if Mercedes really wanted to keep Lewis they would’ve gave him more than a 1+1 deal. Mercedes were ready to drop Lewis after next year so he made the leap a year early.

Maybe 1+1 was all Lewis was prepared to give them

Well Mercedes also agreed to it so it’s not Lewis fault he exercised his option. Mercedes did the same thing with Bottas and exercised their option with him and kicked him to the curb.

Also, Mad Max returns!!! George has been driving a lot better recently and definitely deserves the win.

Fantastic finish to the race, George lucked into a win while Lando paid a steep price going toe to toe with the biggest a-hole on circuit.

He’s talking about Max, it was some pretty dirty driving there, he’ll probably realize that after he watches it back later on. Lando did make some mistakes of his own too but Max just wasn’t going to let him get by under any circumstances

Nice guys finish last. First F1 race I ever attended Max took out the entire Ferrari team. Still rather him win than others.

I would really like to know if there has ever been an F1 contract that didn’t have a performance clause.

All the great championship drivers in history in every motorsport category have had sharp elbows and an attitude on the circuit, that's just the way the world works. If you aren't prepared to intimidate and sometimes bully your opponents you aren't going to repeatedly wind up on top. Today it's Max, before him it was Lewis, before him Michael S, and on and on, multiple champions have an innate attitude. Quit crying about Max's driving, if you want to beat him develop a winning car and get the right driver, anyone is beatable. McLaren is on the right track, Mercedes and Ferrari aren't. It's their issue, not Max's. If the stewards want to punish Max they will, let's see what happens.

He can’t be a horrible overrated driver who was bad for the team, and bad for the team for leaving.

I am not sure how you can hold both of those thoughts at the same time.

Cognitive dissonance...

I’m totally convinced Lewis thrashed Rosberg because Rosberg was a team player and let Lewis muscle past him to keep team points.. If Rosberg would have hit back things would be different. Like Max did to Lewis at Monza. Calculated dirtiness.

I will never say Lewis a bad driver. I simply don’t think he’s the love child the rest of the world thinks he is. I’m sure Cullen left him for a reason. Same thing with Djokovich, winning the most doesn’t mean your the best.

Huh, being top of the list usually means that you're the best.

Yes, and following this logic we find that David Coulthard is a better driver than Mario Andretti. Never knew that.

Obviously we'll never get to see the contracts but we can safely assume there are performance clauses, buyout clauses, and options for every team and driver.

Unless you’re a Verstappen fan, then that only applies to Max. Lewis just had the best car.

Also, wtf is wrong with Checo? Max had a puncture, extra pitstop, and a 10 second penalty but still beats Checo. He's really wasting that seat right now.
