Where did you find that beauty for 400 usd ??
The c-shaped and integrated bracelet Connie’s go for seriously little money- it’s actually amazing how far off the radar they are from the mainstream vintage buyers. And these are among some of the best movements Omegas ever made; last of the in-house before the farm-out.
I guess the case shapes are a love or hate situation. I think they are dead sexy and an archetype of their time. As Rolex was still flogging their long in the tooth Oyster (and still are) omega was on the cutting edge of style.
I may have posted this one earlier in the thread but this was $400 on eBay-original owner, never polished- it might as well have been free.

I bought this 1968 stainless Seamaster cal. 565 around six months ago. Runs well, maybe 15 to 20 seconds negative per day. A few scratches on the dial but otherwise a nice watch for $425. I find myself wearing it often.

Picked up this 70s manual Perseo Ferrovie Dello Stato in the satin C case yesterday. Perseo supplied since 1927
( still does ) the Italian State Railroad (the FS on the caseback) ...I was originally thinking of getting the UG version - but for less $ settled on this one instead; I also liked the Cortébert historical connection w Perseo. Powered by the Perseo branded 17jewel workhorse Unitas cal 6325
( Wehrmachtswerk/Army movem’t) it ticks at 21600 and the whole watch just feels solid. ... IMO it looks nice on the blue/grey Vera Pelle strap. Buona Caccia!

Picked it up for a lot less than $500 - around 300€. 50 years old, but loads of personality!

Bellissimo!

I got a friend with some pocket watches which were supplied to FS and the logo of Ferrovie is engraved in the back. These watches have 50+ years and I’m still amazed by the quality.

the seller told me its from the 70s

Im not sure whether this still have all its original parts or partly frankenstein. But im satisfied enough with its wearability and performance.

A friend of mine who is workbench talented (read-not a watchmaker) did the lemon juice trick on a lady Seamaster dial that was almost dark orange and barely readable. Aside of the loss of lume, it came out like a gleaming jewel. I had him do it on deville I got that was similar...not so lucky- text all floated off the dial in big chunks. I texted while he was doing it asking how it was going and didn’t hear from him for over 24 hours....he was freaking out. I could visualize what was happening...oh that looking good...wait...oh shit, oh shit....

...sir, you cannot just finish off a story like that. Please tell what happened next!

Lol!!! Sorry for the cliff-hanger. I sent it off to an watchmaker to have it redone, who sent the dial out to a reputable dial refinisher. I opted to have it redone in black as the likelyhood of me finding an original black Deville was slim (they are Uber rare and when they do come up in good shape go for $$$). The result was very attractive, but it was a redial and I just couldn’t bring myself to wearing it (a psychological thing). I passed it along to a friend who loves it and doesn’t get hung up on the redial thing.
That was one of my noob-taxes. I won’t buy another that Is challenged cosmetically.
