Omega sub second ref. 2836 cal. 266 from 1951 - not a reference you see every day. Golden furniture on a patinated dial. I used to say that I was not a patina lover, but this one made me break my promise. My vintage expert watchmaker exclaimed: "finally you grew up!" 😁

Sunburst, charcoal and I'm all in. Paid $350'ish with shipping.

Relume not so bad for the naked eye. Ref. 165.002, cal. 552.

A very luck eBay find... US Army marked as well!

Newbie here. Maybe just me, but does the way the 3,4,8,9 hour marker, likewise the corresponding minute marker, look awkward to anyone else? I would have assumed a bad redial but obviously from the number of positive responses, it must be original. Are there many other models with numbers positioned this way? Thanks.

Thanks, Steve. I got an offer of 400$ which I initially thought a little too high - but after 18 hrs, I called the seller and just managed to secure it! 😁

Took a walk to the center of my town on July 4. Saw a Yard Sale at a little antique shop.
My wife was looking through the jewelry-mostly costume- which was priced at 8 items for $1.00
I saw a box of watches and looked through it expecting to find the usual quartz women's fashion watches-and I did. They were priced the same as the jewelry- 8 watches for $1.00. At the bottom I saw a cool steel tropical band attached to a watch which was face down. I figured I'd buy whatever the watch was just to get the cool band. I turned the watch over and my heart started beating. I didn't have any money with me so I went to my wife who had a bunch of jewelry in her hand. She paid the lady owner $1.00 for 7 pieces of jewelry and this watch and band-I did find the other half of the band in the box. I don't have a picture of it but it is cool. I had my watch man replace the crystal with an Omega crystal and he said the watch was running fine and did not need a cleaning. I gave the watch to my daughter's fiancee-he has been looking for a vintage Omega. I also found a non running 18k gold women's watch at this sale. It was in another envelope and I gladly paid the $3.00 price on it.
The fun is truly in the hunt

That's not a relumed dial. Sometimes the lume reacts funny on the metallic dials. You got a great deal on that watch.

Needs a bit of TLC(new crystal/gasket minimum) but happy to have joined the sub 500 club in 2018.

My first Omega watch : 1971 ladies, 14 kt white gold case with gold fill bracelet, caliber 485, paid $105, not sure how much it’s worth. Looks better in person.

Unpolished case, pristine honeycomb dial. I don’t know if it was luck or hard work, but you surely did well!

Let's just say if I was paid for the amount of time I spend looking for deals I would make enough to fund an entire collection. Mixture of timing and luck. Finding these little gems makes it all worth it.

Thanks. I was actually considering about the relume, but was not sure. Great, If others agree it hasn’t been relumed.

Nice catch, but appears to be a redial to my eyes. Still a very attractive watch, especially with the textured dial. How much did you pay if I can be nosey?

I think you may be on to something, I didn't notice until you point it out. Is it the spacing and G in omega? The e's in seamaster? I paid over 4 and under 500 for it USD. I am in the window for return, may just do it. 2576-8 is ref.
