I dig that FF Bund...may have to dig one up in 2018. Great work!

many thx mate. yea the bund is something special with a cool history and also manufactury wise interesting as the the case is a product by squale .... and a verly low total production number.

Another exciting year in the vintage watch world is coming to an end. It's always fun for members to share their collective "Year in Review" - also sets the 2018 "Dibs List" 馃榾

I had a ton of turnover this year, and while 2017 didn't yield the "steals" of 2016, it did provide with some "keepers"...straight lug Omegas, a few more Rolex, and some oversized 3 handers.

Here is what was added to the stable...

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's success...errr...damage

That is a very solid year there. It looks more like a few years of hard collecting, well done.
That Ed White is stunning!

Primarily focused on GMT's this year, a few are gone, but plenty left to choose from. Still searching for the ultra illusive Radial, which will be on top of my list for 2018

Right or wrong I'm finding it difficult to justify to myself the outlay needed to bag the "trophy pieces" of 2017 and have focused primarily on value collecting this year. Quite a few out and these are some of the interesting incomings, mainly Omega...

Indeed, but I find the story of your journey of discovery most engaging, thanks for posting.
Merry Christmas

Not much to report. Speedies are too expensive, and decent jumbo's are hard to come by. 馃檨

2018, hopefully the year of a vintage railmaster for me.

I agree, which is why I've currently only got this one Speedy (which I bought this year). I also acquired a 114060 in 2017 which is my every-day-watch BUT I am planning to spend less and not more in 2018.................馃槜

Maybe you need to go on a South American expedition with @nonuffinkbloke and dig up some long-lost FAP gem. I hear he is well connected in Peru. 馃槜

Not much going on in 2017 watch wise for me, mainly sold.

Bought in 2017 and sold in 2017

Tin tin - did not gel with me
X-33 - I love the idea of a grab and go watch, but it can't compete with Gemini 4, ck2998, Ed White, etc

Bought a 1989 LE speedmaster to finish off my decades collection.

What do I expect in 2018?

I'm thinking I'm going to sell down the collection, at least 4-6 watches that get no wrist time will get sold.

I am still looking for a gold speedmaster. And I'm going to try and find a blue dial Blancpain FF.

Once those goals are complete, I'm thinking it is time to move on to other interests.

Quiet year for me 馃槜

1. The first watch for the year was a Speedy Tuesday

( due to still waiting there is no picture and there probably won't be till mid late Jan )

2. No hunting or research on this one. The price of a bottle of wine, purchased at a Antique shop in Tasmania, couldn't leave it sitting there armless ( yet to do anything with it except remove the flex bracelet

3 GP with 39 jewels ( just about to put it on a leather strap )

4. well that's all I was expecting until someone lets a rose gold Zenith go a week before Christmas ( due during the week )

I know I have missed one ( or two )
