I have someone new to be thankful for: And here is my Turkey on last Thanksgiving: The breast meat was a big hit.
No need... I do like the humor however, none of the east coast that I'm aware of is on standard time at that date. Note: these aren't entries.
This is my first entry.... but does include two photos, the first isn't a winner, and the second is just for illustration of what it's hard to see in the first. This is me and my dad. Late 1981, I'm a little over 6 months old. And under my left hand, you can just about make out the watch which first got me into watches - my gateway watch, if you will. It's nothing special, a fairly run of the mill late 1960's Geneve Automatic which he bought in London, on an Omega Milanese bracelet that he bought on Honeymoon with my Mum in malta, during 1973, but it is the watch he wore whilst I was growing up, and up until 5 years ago when he was diagnosed with aggressive early onset Alzhiemers and Dementia. He means a lot to me, and I go visit every weekend, even though he has no idea who I am... he does recognise the watch, which I tend to wear when I go an see him. Anyway, rambling, and emotional, but yeah - I'm thankful for my parents, I'm thankful for everything they have done, and continue to do for me.
I had promised a second, less morbid entry, and here it is! I call it Anticipation. Couldn't find a turkey over here to save my life, but at least I've got a cool napkin ring ;-) We don't do Thanksgiving in The Netherlands, but from what I've read, it connects to something I've been practicing for a while now. It's been a particularly difficult couple of years, and I've found that it helps me to stop and think about all the things I'm grateful for once in a while. I really like the idea of a holiday to celebrate that. I think me and my family will try our hand at Thanksgiving this year, and who knows - maybe it'll mark the beginning of a tradition!
I give thanks everyday for this little girl. A blessing in every sense, as is her mother...and my daughter is clearly a fan as she is apparently checking out my Omega last week on the beach! She actually chooses which watch I wear each morning. Not bad for 22 months old. Picture taken by my wife... Thanks for this forum - it's a great community. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Photo is from Tilly our youngest member of the family ( tick ) Technically she is a watch dog as she watches the house while we are at work so there is a watch there somewhere ( tick ) She would like to give thanks to the crocodile that left the bone to float away and wash up on the beach were she found this. She walked the gauntlet past several dogs twice her size and carried it over 2 km the whole way home along the beach. Her eyes say it all.......
Maybe everyone's just waiting until Thanksgiving to upload their pictures of turkeys stuffed with Rolexes or something?
Autumnal feel in the air. A suitable choice colour-wise - and time for a glass of red in front of the fire after putting baby to bed. Humming nicely on a Sunday evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My first entry is a short one. I am thankful for a life that has given me the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful hobby, and share it with such a great community. Thank you all! Genuinely, Jake
