Well, everything listed by Mad Dog are native sons of Canada...but none of his picks, or yours, were on stage at the last concert I went to...
In order they were...The Watchmen (Winnipeg, Manisnowba), Pop Evil (Michigan, USA), The Glorious Sons (Kingston, ON), The Headstones (Kingston, ON), and The Cult (UK). The only 2 bands on that list that are not all Canadian, have people either born or raised in Canada in the band. The lead Singer from Pop Evil is from Kingston, ON, and Ian Astbury of The Cult grew up in Hamilton, ON...
With the value of the Canadian dollar being so low at the moment, most of my summer concerts will feature Canadian bands, rather than more expensive imports. One other little band from Kingston, ON that I won't be seeing this summer is The Tragically Hip - farewell tour (lead singer has brain cancer) and tickets were sold out in seconds...but their final concert is going to be broadcast on the CBC in August, at least according to a Late Breaking Story on the CBC I heard today...
