This movement is based on the ETA7750 movement which doesn't have a instant date change at midnight. You can see it engage and take a while before it actually flips over.

Correct - on this version the date change is known as "semi-instantaneous", however just FYI on one version of the 7750 (the 7765 to be specific) it does have an instantaneous date change. The 7750 has quite a number of variations, some with significant differences.

Cheers, Al

Well its back and on my wrist. Running beautifully! I think I can finally say 'case closed' on this project.

Transformed - are you still in it for $1700 or so?
Sort of. At the time I purchased this watch I also bought a few pre bonds the same night which I intended to sell to cover the costs of this chrono. In total I bought nine pre bonds and I have sold off most of them now. I have a small spreadsheet and this watch only cost me $325USD including the service when I deduct the profits from the pre bond sales. I still have a few more pre bonds to sell so I am hoping in the end it will cost me nothing but a bit of my time to sell, pack and ship.

To answer your question though, it cost me around 2000USD if I didnt deduct the profits form the pre bonds.

At $2000 you own it abut right but it’s actually almost free (at the moment) due to some shrewd buy/sell tactics. Mind blown

I popped the bezel insert out of the old bezel really easily. I am sort of annoyed I didnt just get Omega to tidy up the original bezel and then locate an insert elsewhere. Oh well, its on a fantastic new bezel now. Still have the original and I am guessing it could be worth something one day, so it takes even more off the final amount I paid for this.

Does anyone know how much a used bezel, handset and clasp would be worth, given they were deemed as so worn they had to be replaced?
