Below is what I wrote in 2019 for my 1000th Post. I thought I would look at this and see what I would change at this point now being over 3years later.

One thing I note is it has been a LOOONG 3yrs for life in general. It feels like 10! So much going on in life and the world...messy business...humanity challenged again and again, failing to learn the lessons of history.

But the great solace of the world is right here at OF. A refuge for a weary soul. A peaceful place to raise a virtual glass of beer among friends and talk the talk that makes great conversations possible. Learning, sharing, laughing, even a bit of sadness as I shared a very personal and painful personal trauma, and in great OF fashion you responded with support and kindness...not to be forgotten.

OF is the best representation of humanity in many ways.

If all the world were OF, wouldn't it be a better place?

Thank You All!

From July 17 2019:
"On the occasion of my 1000th post on this fine board, I thought I would share some musings on what I have experienced on Omega Forums the past two+ years:

1) This is the best watch advice board, period. Got a problem?...somebody knows, for real, not BS. I have learned a mountain of information on this board. Thank you all!
2) This board has the best sense of humor of any discussion group I belong to. Lighthearted, a bit of teasing, just right.
3) This is the most international of any discussion group I belong to. And y'all know it and enjoy it the same as me. Just fascinating to see what other people think from different locations and cultures. Awesome. Great sharing.::psy::
4) Greatest sense of community of any discussion group I belong to. Omega fans are awesome and appreciate all sort of timepieces.
5) 99% are great guys. Yeah, there's a few buttheads but everyone has bad days, and so do I. If I pissed you off, you probably deserved it, but just in case...I'm sorry.
6) I hope I have been able to inform and advise as well from my limited knowledge, sharing my adventures and things that work for me. I am new to this board but not new to watches, or mechanics, etc but this has accelerated my hobby by 10 fold easy.
6) I hope this continues to be a mature, helpful and entertaining forum in the future. Kudos to all!"

As a new member who has spent a few months here already, I agree with everything you said. I have been on various other forums for my other hobbies in the past, but I find OF to be the most positive virtual environment of all.

What also makes this place very special is a small group of experts/enthusiasts who are dedicated to helping newcomers without intimidating them.

I know I found a home here fairly quickly. So I can't argue with much of what you've said. I'm glad to be learning and meeting new people who enjoy the same stupid things in life that I do out there. 馃榾

Congratulations. You look so familiar. Were you ever on TV? 馃槈
