So, did any new Omega GMTs emerge from Basel World as we had hoped??

I'm pretty sure it's a negative on that.

Never understood why this model didn’t get the love that it’s non gmt brethren did. When I lost my 2254 I seriously considered getting one of these as a replacement with my insurance dollars (ended up getting a similarly unloved IWC utc model instead)

I think some people figured it was more money for a watch that looked almost the same. Also it is thicker and sits a bit higher on the wrist. A lot of SMP lovers like the thinner profile of the 1120 cal models.

yeah the thinness of the 1120 models is great, though compared to modern co-axial watches the the GMT version is positively svelte 😀

I bought my 2254 new near end of life for the model and even then the GMT model was available for less. I guess the GMT complication was not something people really dug. The lack of the of the He valve is a big plus in my book though and the independent hour hand is fantastic for traveling.

This thread really has me thinking I should keep an eye out for a cheap 2534, would make the perfect beater travel watch.

Really wished Omega had more GMT options this year. Fingers still crossed for a mid-year expansion to the Aqua Terra or Seamaster 300 line. Dying for a Master-series GMT that isn't 44+ millimeters.

I did just that and found a local guy to sell me it for an amazing price. I really like it! Surprising that they were selling cheaper than the 2254's. Probably to just get rid of them I suppose.

Never had a Seamaster GMT but one of my favorite things about is the lack of He valve

I'm absolutely in love with this watch and am pretty surprised how undervalued and unloved they seem to be.

The transition at 18 and 6 has always put me off this GMT.
To fussy my eye always goes to those 2 points on the bezel.

I just got one of these and the bezel is a lot less loud than it appears in photos.
A future cult classic I think!

Had the 2534 and it is a very nice watch. 👍 I sold it upon buying the Bond GMT coaxial (2535.80.00) which later sold as well but recently re-acquired. 😀
