·Hi
For Sale is this truly lovely unmolested 1969 Omega Speedmaster ST145022-69 with 29mill Calibre 861 movement:
It is a cracking example which I believe has never been touched , although the marks to the caseback would suggest serviced
The dial on this one is just turning to a deep chocolate brown or 'tropical' which was due to the production process at the time not applying the 'Zapon' coating and with the combination of a hot , humid , sunny & smokey environment this is the end result - according to my notes this one is from South America so this makes perfect sense:
Dial & handset are completely original - crystal appears to be a replacement at some point as I cannot see the Omega logo:
Bezel is the dot above 90 version and is in excellent condition:
Case is in fantastic original condition....profiles are sharp to the touch and with just the odd dink here & there just adds to the character of the piece:
Original Crown & pushers still in place and caseback is the correct pre-moon version:
The Watch also benefits from having a full length & complete 1039 BCT with 516 endlinks stamped 3/70:
It is keeping excellent time & the chrono function works/resets to zero....Service history is unknown.
These are rarely available in this condition & with such lovely dial & handset patina....so the price is £1895 OHPF's including RMSD - Payment to be made via BT.
Plenty of references available - both the Watch & myself are located in the UK.
Best - Neil
