I recently came across this 1960s Constellation Calendar listed for auction. While I won't be bidding, I'm curious about your thoughts on its quality and possible value.

The listing doesn't say what reference it is but I suspect that it's a 2954

  • Auction House Estimate: $2,500 - $3,800 USD
  • Current Bid: $3,500 USD (plus 20% buyer's fee)
  • Material: 18ct yellow gold with a matching 18ct yellow gold bracelet.
  • Condition: Includes box and papers. The movement is said to be running, but no pictures are available. The dial has a reasonable amount of degradation and dirt, and the case has a few dings but it's generally pretty sharp for a 65 year old gold watch.
So what do you all think about this little gold number? Any views on the auction house's valuation, and do you have any opinions about that dial?
Curious to hear what you all think.
Matt

Sell the bracelet for scrap and find a decent dial, still no great up side.
