·It appears to be authentic but the dial has been poorly refinished. All watches tick, some louder than others.
Wouldn't lose sleep over it unless it's louder than the tell-tale heart.

This is what the seller said:
“This is a vintage OMEGA Seamaster De Ville wristwatch with a yellow gold filled casing, and a faux alligator themed black leather band.
The watch is made of 14K yellow gold filled material.
This watch we just had serviced a few months ago, original cleaned dial, we replaced the crystal (note there is light wear from wearing for a couple months) the hands do show wear consistent with the age as does the backing, (we didn’t want to replace either but try to keep as original as possible)
Watch is currently running I did however notice that every so often the time or calendar didn’t match the exact time and I’d have to reset back to the appropriate time, could be because I only wore it intermittently.
Signature will be required upon delivery with the shipping service used.”

Basically, a dial can get damaged from water, humidity or a sloppy repair etc etc and someone will clean off the original paint and repaint / refinish it. This is a big hit on the value and the desirability to collectors

·The dial issue is a major one. Basically, a large proportion of the value is in the dial and 99% of the time a collector wouldn’t touch a redial.
