Β·I know this is a somewhat old thread but I am resurrecting it because last week I bought a brand new 1861 Speedy from an AD with the intentions of modding it and it was just pointed out to me by another member that it has a DON bezel, albeit a modern one. I guess these variants do exist and have slipped through the cracks. Unlike others, I have no belief these will have any added value or become collectible, and anyways, I have since already modded it... but it is cool to have a modern DON bezel I guess.

But did you buy the Moon from Hodinkee?
It would be interesting his article on this peculiarity and maybe a search to understand how many pieces could have come out like this and where they ended up !!
