All my tritium dials glow under uv and illuminate very evenly.

Where is the watch from?

Here is mine.

When exposed to very strong flashlight for a couple of seconds, the hands also faintly glow

That has been my experience as well unfortunately. I was just curious is anyone has experience to the contrary 馃檨

I got it from a collector, he states he frequents watch shows and has owned a dozen or so speedies, I have never detected dishonesty from him. I don't know. I went with PayPal so I can get my cash back if needed.

Here are some macro shots through a 10x loupe. Any thoughts from the more experienced crowd? @oddboy ? ec088a4c111f0e072ef4f4035998f682.jpg 7a554fc10422d5840593a55bd39132c0.jpg 71b57a11405d5e179e3f2203175523be.jpg 1e1eb37e7652773fede408ea6e59779e.jpg

My fear is the glue looking substance around the lume plots. Anyone care to comment? Sorry for being so needy, I am trying to be respectful of the seller and get him a timely response as to how we will proceed from here. Thank you in advance for any help!

Some binder to stabilize degrading (original) lume maybe? Just a guess.

Your latest photos convince me that it's original. The "hot spots" in your dark photo are, as you suspected, due to the long exposure. I don't believe there was ever a dial artist who could match fill-in colors as nicely as seen in the recent pictures.

I sincerely appreciate it gentlemen, the piece is in amazing authentic shape in every other aspect it seems, I am just thrown by the lack of uniform reactivity under black light. If it is re-lumed it is by someone with incredible skills. If anyone else cares to weigh in please feel free. As of today I feel good about the acquisition.

I agree with @wsfarrell. Plus, I'm an artist myself and you really need an incredible steady hand to keep everything within the lines 馃榾

I appreciate your input @Teunan87.

After chewing on this a bit longer and looking at pictures of my old tritium dial speedies I just can't believe that the "glow" would be so absent and non-uniform. I am going to see if the seller wants me to return it or if he wants to make up the difference of a new dial/hands.

Very hard to tell here IMO.

For me, three of the biggest tells for a relume, are no glow under uv, uneven glow under uv, and the feint smudging around the markers (almost as if it's applied, then the 'overspray' removed while it's still wet, but still leaves a slight residue.

However, this looks so good that i wouldnt like to say either way.

Have you got a pic under normal exposure, when it's glowing or is it too feint?

You can see it with the naked eye, but yes ... too feint to capture with a camera. :/

This leads us to the next question, what is the adjusted value for a re-lumed dialed 145.012-67?

In other words, how much would it cost to make it right? And if you could get an original example dial in good condition and swap it out, is that suspect or copacetic?

My 145.012-67 after an exposure to strong flash light.
The picture was captured with a F5 focal of 38 mm in length and 1/10 second as exposure duration.
