Hi Everyone, I have been cutting down the collection this year to free up funds for a non-watch related project, and don't have room in the current 8 watch rotation for two Speedmasters, so I am letting this one go. I purchased this watch in 2013 from the original owner on Ebay. It got a full service in August 2013 from our very own @Archer. The original owner had purchased the watch with a seamaster style bracelet that was only 19mm wide, which I did not keep with the watch. The dial/hands/bezel look near perfect to me. The case is a bit soft, but not terrible, and I assume the crown is a service replacement. In the past when I have posted pics on this watch someone raised a possible question on the length of the hands. However in doing my own comparison to other 145-012 I do not see any problems. Granted, I'm not a speedmaster expert. If people want to debate the hand length, go for it, that's above my pay grade. The watch is currently on a brand new double ridged tan leather strap with modern Omega buckle, which is included. I will post a few older pics showing other straps, but those are not included. When I purchased this watch it was before everyone was getting extracts, and I never felt the need. When running the serial 265436XX on ilovemyspeedmaster.com it comes up with: ST145.012-67,-68 (Caliber 321) ST105.003-65,ST145.003 (Caliber 321) I don't have any reason to question the movement, but if you purchase the watch and there is a problem getting an extract/mismatch, I will take the watch back for a full refund (assuming the watch is in exactly the same condition as shipped). The watch is running well, everything works. Please note there is a small scuff in the crystal near the 5 hour marker which you can see in some of the pics, this will easily buff out with polywatch. I am asking $8900 USD bank wire or paypal F&F. Shipping is your responsibility. I have plenty of references here on OF and also on Ebay (20 years 100% feedback). Thanks OF for the space, and onto the pics.......
Well this is impeccable, for an affordable price. I would have jumped on this if I can sell my own Speedy now.
Thanks everyone for the kind words, watch is sold. It’s a little sad to sell this watch as it was my first vintage purchase, but it’s not getting the wrist time it deserves. I should add I was just reviewing the 51 page pdf with high quality macro photos that @Archer provided with the service, documenting every stage of the process. Unbelievable professionalism and attention to detail, it’s an amazing document to pass along to the next owner. I feel I should charge an extra 1K on the sales price just for this and send half the money back to archer as commission
