I was curious about current value on my 67 speedy, which I got on eBay 4 years ago for $3300.
Looking up the price chart on speedmaster101 it says $6600, is this accurate? I'm just amazed at the relatively lower end stuff (no offense intended) I see on eBay selling in the $4-$7K range.
This is not a sales enquiry, not parting with the watch for any reason. Just curious on prices for this model. I guess it's one of the most common 321 versions, so that must be a factor?

Speedmaster101 is a guide for deals between collectors, if you read the top and bottom portions of William's price guide I believe it will answer your questions.

Pictures would help estimate current value ;)

There is a lot of junk and overpriced watches on eBay. It's like the guys that see a frame of concourse level restoration car sell on a televised auction and think their driver level car missing the rare options is worth the same.

If you have been following the prices of all vintage watches, not just Speedy's, for the past 2-3 years this should'nt come to you as a surprise. Vintage Speedmasters in general have been on a robust upward trajectory.

You have done quite well, enjoy the ride!

I'm into mine for $9400. $7800 for the watch with an 1171 bracelet and 506 end links. $600 service. $1,000 for a 1039. I probably overpaid.

Just to clarify, I was wondering if the pricing on speedmaster101 was low at $6600, not high......it seems to me others are paying more for this model in this condition......as evidenced already by a few ppl in this thread.

Collectors tend to be more.....picky. Those who are buying currently may or may not be doing so with a discerning eye. Or buying because they think Speedies will soon be in the Daytona price category. Who knows....but regarding your watch Id say that $6600 is about correct.
Nice bezel, replaced crown and pushers, from the one photo it seems that it has seen a polish as the lugs are a bit soft. But the dial is attractive and that's the most value, nice watch!

Gorgeous watch yours is on the higher side of things, over 6600 flirting with collector grade. Great strap choice!

The OP's watch is lovely - but can be lightly critisised. (so what? But it can so we have to take it into account)
The minus points are as above.
But then you HAVE to take into account that this watch has a certain attraction of the dial, and the way the parts complinent each other, and it has a very nice bezel that is rarely seen on 146.012 as I think the dealers swap them on 2998's.
This watch is also worth more because it is not with a dealer, so we know it hasn't been fixed with a paperclip just prior to sale....

I do think the price spoken of above is accurate, but remember if two collectors take a fancy to it, it could go high at auction, and it is when a watch has this indefinable attraction (or should I say unquantifiable attraction) that it can happen.

Also the colour of the dial looks spectacular, unless its photoshop, in which case the chart can often get thrown out of the window in a competitive bidding situation.

Here's pics of mine for comparison. I paid that amount because I decided I wanted one and bought it. Not sure how it compares to anyone else's.

Thanks everyone for the input. Again, I'm not parting with the watch.
