What would be the correct buckle for a ref 145.006? I like that Bulang & Sons make the Kaufmann strap again, but their buckle is a complete mismatch, plus unnecessary branding. Does anyone have an NSO Seamaster Chronograph with a strap? Appreciate any help.

I am pretty sure that the buckle is not model specific and was generic part used for many models. I have no idea what could be correct for 1966-1968 Omega.

Maybe someone else can answer the question then.

This is for a .016 not the .006, but google pulled this example of a NOS with strap and buckle...

Thanks @kov for the great thread. I've posted the backstory to my 415.006 (passed on by my dad) on another help thread - but wanted to share the owners guarantee booklet and bracelet (1118) here FYI. As you can see this was purchased in 1969, and is a birth year piece for me - so not only an heirloom. The retailer has entered the ref as: 861 654 - is this correct? It was a daily wearer and as you can see needs some TLC. I'm busy sourcing pusher as one is missing. The image of the watch has some colour cast from overhead lights, but is in ok nick and runs. The crystal i've used some polywatch on but otherwise is not cracked. I'm really loving the black radial dial ref. 145.006 btw.

It鈥檚 a Seamaster with a very rare dial you have here. Congrats !

I believe this is the 4th Seamaster with this dial and calibre 861 I have seen over the last decade. Not more. you鈥檙e correct, all the hands are unfortunately later replacements.

Cheers from the 321 brother 馃槈

This is a beaut @kov, any chance you can share where that leather strap is from? Thanks!

Hello. I am the owner of this what I think is a 145.016 Seamaster Chronograph with 321 Movement. It has been suggested to me that the hands may be later replacements and incorrect? The few other examples I have come accross with fine hour markers as opposed to the fat onyx ones have a red second hand and matching hour and second hands with partial / half tritium markings.

The dial itself is very similar to my 18K Gold 145.016 apart from the size of the hour markers.

Hi,

you should verify what you have, open the case and check the movement and the reference number

145.016 should have a 861 movement

145.006 came with 321 movement

@kov did a lot a of research on this topic and it is very likely that there are indeed wrong hands on your example

Correct ones are shown in @kov s picture

I have the same one with exact the same hands as on @kov s picture

Thank you for that. I will ask the watchmaker to open the watch and forward a photo to you later today.

Hi. Frustratingly my images are HEIC and not JPEG so need to convert them to upload.

Took the watch to an Omega expert restorer in Hatton Garden London today who examined the movement and the hands.

Serial number dates the watch to 1968.

Movement is definitely the 321.

In his opinion the patina and condition of the hands are commensurate / match the condition of the dial and he thinks the watch has not been opened before.

I know that the previous owner had it stored in his safe for 40 years, hence the mint condition......

If 321 movement then a 145.006. 145.006 stamped on inside of case back. 321 stamped on movement.

If the hands are replacements they are as old as the watch itself according to the watchmaker and vintage Omega specialist.

Always enjoy returning to this thread. I had a quick question - are the .006 and .016 cases effectively interchangeable, other than the model number? Would an .006 case fit with an .016 caseback, or an 861 movement?
