Hmm. Yea I guess it would be better to send it off to Longines to restore.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and would like to acquire a 13zn.
I have come across one and after reading this topic, can i conclude that the dial is original?
I have my doubts with the case, looks to new for this type.

Dial looks nice to me. Hands seem to be adapted...
Concerning the case not sure...

I just saw this watch and was a bit confused. It is a 1950鈥檚 30 CH and the dial and hands look good to me. On the other hand the dial scales looks much too smal for the case.
This dial was not originally in this case?
What are your thoughts?

Other images of this watch show that the sub-dials look strange. Also, the movement shows wear that is potentially incongruous with the pristine condition of the dial. The minute counter hand is also incorrect. All this, in combination with the unusual lume plots and excess dial showing around the perimeter, suggest that something is amiss.

Currently looking at a 13zn to add to my collection. What do the experts think? Sandwich Dial has the brass feet, dial looks legit (no redial)?.

I don't think this is a redial and the serial match. dial feet are copper and not painted.

So the movement shows more patina than the perfect dial. No thank you. I would offer price assuming fake dial or recently created by Longines if there is paperwork to prove it.

Beautiful! Case does not appear to have been polished either. 馃檮

Are you suggesting that the watch is anything other than as described?

I think the description of the dial suggests quite a lot about the integrity of the seller.

The dial is believed to be original and unrestored, although this is difficult to guarantee. We have canvassed a number of opinions on this, as it is incredibly difficult to be totally sure if and when a dial restoration has been carried out, many years ago. If this is the case, we feel this is as close to an original unrestored dial as one is ever likely to see, certainly in such top condition as this. It is for these reasons we have left the dial completely alone. If however, a customer would prefer a restored dial, we will restore this dial free of charge.

Very obvious redial. Avoid this piece.
Whats so bad about this watch to avoid? It looks like a nice watch. The dial looks nice. Where do you see the obvious?

No genuine original sandwich dial looks like this condition. Not a single sign of age. The movement shows that the watch did see moisture. It is impossible that the more delicate paint of the dial does not show any age. Also look at second hand shows rust or corrosion. How can a matching dial not show corrosion on foil? This is not the matching dial.

The dial feet is only one piece of information. Dial feet can be silver or copper. You can fake copper feet easily as it turns out.

In Jura Switzerland you can still have any dial you want made.

The serial number puts in in the early 40s. The print style is from the 50s. The logo does not look right. A redial.
