...the more I search...just made this for comparison, and now I see the same dissymmetry.
Very interesting!

rgds - h.u.

A little hello from a humble collector.

Both have debatable dials.
The top one displayed is totally wrong (case, dial and hands... too much to comment on/ criticize.
The dial of the one below seems to have the
right font but the decalque printing overlapping the sub dial should be visible. Here lost... Hands all replacement hands although it is difficult to judge the hour & minute hands because of the shadow on the picture...
My humble contribution. I wished I had more time to comment on many other comments on pictures shown of htose 13ZNs

..forgot: usually the gold cased examples has been produced in a lower number than the steel cased ones. Maybe 1:10 ?

Yes, I don鈥檛 have anything on production numbers. Never seen anything published. 10 steel for every gold is a big surprise to me.

TOTL models of most watch brands is always precious metal. So I assumed steel rare.

+1 with @Seiji.
Longines NEVER gives production numbers - as a matter of principle.
My guess is that 1/ it's proprietary marketing and strategic information and 2/ they don't want to be caught in feuds among sellers and buyers as to whether a watch is "rare" or "exceptionnally rare".

What do people think about this one? It is a 1940 model. I am interested in views on the numbers on the two small dials and the 12 and 6 on the hour. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for commenting. I was considering purchasing when I first saw it, so I would appreciate if you could provide more detail and views. It has a certificate, it is in steal, it is in very good condition but personally I have questions on the dial. But I am by no means an expert on classic watches.

First of all, when you find a desirable dial from the 40's in such crisp condition the alarm bells should ring. No fading on the coloured scales. Numbers on sub-dials
are too large. Longines logo is too large... I would

But please get a second opinion, I'm just a collector. No expert.....

I麓m not an expert as well, but the dial above is a redial (as Radiumpassion has stated) and the value of a 13ZN is dependent on its dial.

Is it possible for an original dial to have different styles? In the watch above the 6 is Open at the top but closed in the hours or the two small dials. I just wonder.

Yes, it麓s possible to have different types of "6" (open and closed) on the same (untouched) dial.

4650 isn麓t so much for that watch - even it is only 34mm. Maybe the seller considered the problem while he thought about the pricing?
Crown looks worn but ok to me.
